This has to be one of the best Chinese all-you-can-eat buffets I have visited! I haven’t actually been to that many, but so far it beats the Manchester ones I have gone to. It’s a huge place, with free parking, and is quite ‘fancy’ inside to say it’s just an all-you-can-eat buffer off a main road near Stoke. The starters are extensive — from prawn toasts, spring rolls, crunchy seaweed, duck pancakes… so much choice. Same goes for the mains, sides, and desserts. But what I loved about this place is that they have sushi chefs making fresh sushi rolls continuously, and they do the BEST crab, salmon and avocado ones. They also have a roast and pizza section, incase any one in the group is a little sick of Chinese food(although you’re kind of in the wrong place if so). There’s a chocolate fountain with marshmallows too, and a fully stocked bar. Laid back atmosphere, and around £12 per person. Loved this place on a chilled out hungover Sunday!

One big buffet. Perfect for groups wanting to sample a wide range of Chinese food. The biggest spreads are on Friday and Saturday nights, where they have a chef who will cook you up fresh food in front of your eyes. This is a big scale buffet, so don’t expect food which will blow you away, but there is so much choice, including desserts and a chocolate fountain, that there is something for everyone. Great for young and old, families, couples and groups.

A simply awful place. The restaurant is huge, noisy and constantly packed to the rafters. We had difficulty parking, and for a moment thought we were going to be turned away because we hadn’t booked a seat in advance. Fortunately(or unfortunately) friendly staff were able to locate a table for us and encouraged us to tuck in to the mountains of food immediately. The theme is quantity over quality. It’s eat as much as you want, so to get your money’s worth you’ve just got to keep eating against all your natural instincts. I wanted to leave, and just sit in my car away from all the rabble after only my first portion, feeling a little bit sick, not so much because of the luke warm food, but other customers disgusting eating habits. It’s like you’ve inadvertently signed a long term contract that you can’t get out of as soon as you walk through the door. The number of people crammed in makes your journey to and from the buffet packed with obstacles akin to a krypton factor challenge. Constantly moving chairs and seating arrangements, children flying around etc. If you’re a member of the Nutty Professors Klump family, or professionally attend eating competitions, this is an ideal practice ground for you. If you appreciate chineese food, go anywhere else.

I heard a lot of rave about Buffet Island on Milehouse Roundabout before I actually visited. Pretty much all I heard was good so my expectations were high. For one it wasn’t as cheap as I expected, and the food quality was distinctly average. This is definitely a more family-orientated restaurant, so expect loads of noise and kids — avoid if you are after a quiet relaxing meal. That being said, I did enjoy the meal and the fact they serve Sushi on the buffet as well is a nice little extra. Probably won’t be hurrying for a second visit, but if you love buffet places, you’ll find it hits the spot.

Buffet island is a Chinese buffet and they have alot of meat options but not much for vegetarians. The staff are a little rude and patronising and the prices are reasonable but the drink prices are too high! I normally just ask for tap water. The restaurant is very big. If you book before hand you don’t have to wait but if you don’t you doi waited upto 20 minutes once.

We went to Buffet Island this evening and enjoyed our visit. It is a good place for groups and families with children and there were plenty of both. However, you need to arrive early to be sure of parking as the car park is not really adequate for the size of the restaurant. Food was plentiful and included sushi and stir fries to order, as well as a good selection of other dishes. Desserts were particularly good and included lots of fresh fruit(strawberries, pineapple, grapes, etc) as well as a chocolate fountain. It was not cheap(bill was over £50 for 3 including one non-alcoholic drink each) but we all enjoyed it and would probably go again, but not too often.

We visited Buffet island for the first time on sunday. We arrived at around 12.30pm just after is had opened and we was greeted by a friendly man. We waited around 5 minutes for a table as we hadnt booked and was showed to a large clean table which was plently big enough for 4 adults and our 1 yr old daughter. We was then told to help ourself. They had a lovely selection of lots of different chinese food available and plently to choose from. The food was lovely and fresh and the puddings and chocolate fountains was even nicely. It is rather expensive for chinese food but nice as a treat now and again. It cost around £10 per person but kids under 4 go free. I will definatly be visiting again.

I am a big fan of all Chinese food and my friends were talking about a new place called Buffet Island that none of them had been to but apparently it was the next big thing. We decided to go one Saturday night to see what all of the fuss was about and we had the best time. I can honestly say if you love Chinese food then you will like it here and although I am reviewing the one in Stoke-on-Trent I do believe there is a chain of them so you should be able to find one near to you. The address of the one I visited is as follows; Liverpool Road Newcastle-Under-Lyme ST59HP You may think it is quite a vague address but it is a huge building so you can’t really miss it as you drive down the road. The building has Buffet Island written in huge letters above the building and the car park is quite big and we went on a very busy night and still managed to park two cars which was good. When you walk in the gorgeous smell of Chinese gets you and immediately makes you starving if you were not hungry already and trust me make yourself hungry to go to this place. It is very busy in there. To the left there is a waiting area with some chairs and you do have to report to the guy at the front to let him know you have arrived. Oh yes please do book especially if you go on a weekend. The guy will then call your name when your table is ready. There is a bar in the waiting area so you can go and get a drink while you wait. We were called quite quickly though so didn’t have to wait that long. There are so many tables around and they are nicely decorated and I think the majority were all circular so if a lot of people go you can all see and talk to each other easily. The waiter took our drinks order and told us to go and help ourselves. The buffet choice is huge with everything you could really want from a Chinese. I watched all of the staff and they change the food quite regularly so there is never any left out for a long time so it is all fresh. The buffets are all in order so you should find rice’s together and curries together and that sort of thing. There was so much to choose from that I went up a lot to try different things. There is even a sushi bar cooking fresh sushi which was yummy. Then another part of the restaurant, you choose your meat and they barbeque it for you while you wait. The chefs are great and ask them anything they want and they will help you. I have to say that every bit of food I tasted was cooked to perfection and the rice was just stunning. Although I had to stop myself eating too much of it as I wanted to save my stomach for the best part of any meal the pudding. Ok so the pudding selection here is the best I have ever seen in any Chinese restaurant and that is no joke. The chocolate fountain was obviously my favourite as I love chocolate so much and they have so much fruit and then marshmallows you can have with it. There is even really small dishes you can take and fill them up with warm chocolate. Then the best bit for me was that they make fresh pancakes and I love pancakes. If you do not fancy any of that then you can always choose from the varieties of cakes and fruit they have as there is so many. I did admit though that I had eaten too much of the sweet stuff as it was that nice. Price wise for a buffet of this size I do not think it was that bad. It came to about £15 a head which was the buffet and a drink so not that bad at all considering how much you are allowed and do eat!!! Just a quick thought on the location it is within easy reach from Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. In conclusion I think Buffet Island is fantastic. I obviously cannot talk regarding all of the others in the chain but this one is lovely. The decoration of the building is great, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. I would recommend to all those who love Chinese food as one of the best places I have been to in quite a while. Thanks for reading. xxx P. S. Buffet Island is great. I have been here five times. You can eat as much as you like for a fixed price. The food is lovely and they are always bringing fresh stuff out. There are always a good choice of starters, mains and deserts. The staff are always polite and helpful. The restarant is big but it is always busy. AWESOME

a bit expensive, but you’re paying for quality, and if you go easy on food during the day can certainly eat your money’s worth because it all tastes so nice! Throught your meal you will often see trays of food being swapped for newy cooked ones, so you know the food is all freshly cooked and not been sitting around for hours like you sometimes get the impression it may be in other buffet restaurants. The option of having a stirfry cooked before your eyes is a novel and unique experience, and certainly further exemplifies how fresh everything is in the restaurant. The dessert trolley is a welome treat at the end of the meal, but you havwe to keep reminding yourself about it through the the starter and main, or you may not have left enough room for pud!

rather expensive, but the food is good. there is a large variety or starters, mains and deserts, and you even get the option to have your chosen ingredients freshly stir fried in front of you. The sushi bar always looks well maintained and fresh the desert trolley is excellent, and the chocolate fountain is always a hitespecially when the marshmallows are replenshied there is a good variety of meats, and also vegetarian dishes which are clearly marked so you know what you are getting. the bar tends to be a little slow, and its best to reorder your drinks well before you want one. The staff can also be a little abrupt if you turn up just before or after you’re booked timeand in some cases i have known people be turned away after only just being late by a few moments. if you can turn up on time, its a very nice eat out

Wide selection of food. I liked the parts where they will cook a stir fry for you, and you can choose the ingredients. Is very busy, which is usually a good sign.

I tried to book a table for 14 adults and 2 small kiddies. We were told by an extremely rude person on the phone that we would have to pay a deposit of £5 each and that the high chairs for the kids could not be reserved. So even after paying our £70 deposit they could not guarantee our children would have anywhere to sit. When we explained how unreasonable this was the person on the phone was very rude and defensive. They will not be getting our customer and that of our wide circle of friends and family. Steer clear if I was you.

This is a new concept in Chinese dining in this area. You pay a fixed price and eat as much as you like, can’t be bad. There is no catch, take a seat and get your plates and go up to the buffet as many times as you like, for starters, mains and desserts! Brilliant for families but does get busy at times and you have to wait for seats. Good Chinese food.
