Nestled beneath the mighty Tyne Bridge, this is a bright and comfortable place for tea, cake and sandwiches. There’s a big focus on cup cakes in bright colours as well as big, tall cakes to take a slice from but they also do good sandwiches too.
For lunch I had a very nice scrambled eggs ‘n’ smoked salmon on toast which was delicious and hearty enough to fill me up.
The staff are nice and friendly and, as I said, the décor is bright and relaxed with painted wooden chairs and tables.
