After experiencing the Wetherspoon’s in Runcorn, this far under achieves my expectations of a decently run Wetherspoon’s, but saying that, it’s still a nice place. The staff are always willing to help which is a bonus, it’s just a shame the food isn’t at it’s best. There is a smoking area, overlooking a small park and in the summer it does trap the heat if you’re wanting to sip your pint of Magners with ice whilst having a cig. For it being one of the cheapest places in the Newcastle area, it’s definitely worth going in as I have had a few good nights in there. Though they weren’t very happy with 15+ of us came in on a birthday«bar crawl», but we were very drunk and being rowdy to be fair. They offer all the standard Wetherspoon’s offers over the week, so if you want a cheap curry, get in there!

This place was my regular haunt during my college years — a place full of fond memories, some a bit blurred though! Friends and myself usually used to stop off here between lectures for lunch which at the time was fantastic value for 2 for a fiver although I think that has changed to £6.50 — still good. Drinks and food are cheap as with all Wetherspoon bars. Back area of the pub is nicer with booths so a bit more private and the outside area is great in summer as it oversees the little Victoria garden. Good cheap place to stop off at, I kinda miss coming here now I live in Manchester.

I often go here during the day for something to eat and drink. The back area is much nicer than the front as there are booths so it’s more private and there’s less drunk old men near the back! The food and service is great for what you pay. The tables aren’t always cleared away quickly enough and you often have to sit at a dirty table although when the staff are alerted they do clear it up.
