amazing ambience as soon as you walk in, the smell of incense and coffee lures you in. Perfect for small gifts for birthdays. Love the large gemstone rings, I have a few my self. The crystals create a very soothing energy, could wile hours away without getting bored. A must visit whenever I am in Newcastle

I begrudge even giving this place a 1* — if it was possible I would give it ZERO… I went there today with my 2 year old daughter. As you can imagine letting a 2 year old wander in the shop could be a disaster. As it was, I had my daughter in a small stroller and on entering the shop I was told I had to leave my daughter outside. Is this guy real? As if I’m going to leave my child outside whilst I browse inside with anyone being able to walk past and grab her while I’m not looking. The guy said its cos space was limited with other people in the shop. May I suggest they have a better layout of the shop then. I mean what about people in wheelchairs? The step is high enough as it is to get in in the first place but its pure discrimination against those who are less abled than others. I will NEVER return to this shop again even though I now have to travel quite a distance to the nearest new age shop to me, I’d rather do that than line the pockets of the people who own and run this shop. 0*

Tucked away down Ridley Place yet still easy to get to, Elula offers a wide range of jewellery, incense, candles, crystals and other gift items such as photo frames and birth stones. This shop smells just like every other new age ethnic shop with different oils, incense and candles all contributing their own atmospheric aromas. Plenty of pretty displays are squashed into a small shop floor. Music is played quietly and is usually calm and tranquil. If you are looking to buy a unique pair of crystal earings then you may find luck here. Last time I stopped by, I had a sandwich from the newly opened café downstairs. The café could do well if it sorted the food out but I won’t go there. Get your gifts here.
