If you are drunk, have no taste in music, money burning in your pockets, you like MILF or are a MILF this is your kind of place. It gets two stars as the people there seem to have a good time.

If your really drunk and want a good dance then this is the place to go. Its a 70s bar with 70s décor and dancing if your into disco inferno and are the disco dancing queen then this is the place for you to go. It is quite small but always has people up on the dance floor. The drink is cheap here with doubles and a mixed around £2 The place always has hen and stag nights here and there are always people in 70s costume. It is by no means the best bar in town but if you are after a good dance near the end of the night out its a good place to pop into

Flares is part of a chain of themed bars/clubs. Music comes from the 60s, 70s and 80s, with recently a little 90s starting to creep in. Flares in Newcastle is actually quite small in comparison to other locations, although still has the uniform corporate ‘funky’ décor. Flares is very cheap and cheerful, it’s a lot of fun for a night out however it isn’t the sort of place you could go every night. The crowd tends to be both the more mature, and the underage. There is usually several hen parties in here, and it is predominantly a female crowd.

this is a bar located at the bottom of the Bigg Market. It’s a very fun place to go and ideal to go to before going to a club but not so much a suitable bar to end the night on. It’s 70’s themed so it obviously helps if you like this sort of music but let’s face it the seventies was a solid decade with lots of danceable songs, a main example of this being disco hits. but the rocking songs like Queen and T Rex will also get you going. it’s geared towards older people but that’s not to say oyu won’t have a good time in here if you didn’t grow up in that era.

Flares, as the name suggests, is a 70s themed bar. So expect disco music and big hair. Popular bar for people who want to get dressed up and relive the 70s. It is like marmite, you’ll love it or hate it. Not the sort of place you could go every week though as it is quite repetitive.
