I just don’t know how this place keeps going. There is nothing to recomend here, as someone else has said the place is dingy and there never seems to be enough staff to help you find what you are looking for. There is now a Screwfix on the same estate that I try first, which for the most part is far superior to here, but they don’t sell all the same products.

Homebase just reminds me of random weekends spent in these stores picking up smelly compost and pretty flowers to plant in the garden and the endless hours spent picking out DIY bits and pieces that ended up in projects that took much longer than anticipated and always created a layer of white dust everywhere. If you want, you can create your own smelly, flowery, dusty moments here too! I’ve only visited this store at night in the winter but I can see a decent sized garden centre and inside, lo and behold, there’e DIY galore! As you enter from the dark carpark, the tills are right in the middle with gardening tools to the right, then DIY materials and tools. On the left, you have your model kitchens and all the parts you will need to put in a house. I must admit, the place is a little dark and dusty but it will definitely fill your needs of lights, curtain rods, paint, gardening tools, light bulbs, electrical appliances etc… There’s so much in here that I don’t even know what they are for but I like looking at the swatches and model kitchens, dreaming of the day I am rich! The staff are scarce but friendly so you may have to wait a while to locate some help or to be served. You can have things reserved or delivered which may be more useful if you know exactly what you want but otherwise, as it is quite pricey, I would say to have a look as there seems to be some kind of bargain or discount running.
