A good shop, I’ve been going there for years despite having heard various good and bad things about it. When buying a guitar, they always seem to show off a bit before handing it to you, making it uneasy/​uncomfortable for you to play if you’re not on the same level as the sales assistant (they generally tend to hover over you the entire time you test out the instrument).
The aftercare/​customer service from one guy in particular (named Warren) is second to none. I think he is the on site guitar tech — I made a complete mess when trying to adjust the action on my guitar (something I’ve never paid much attention to over the years) and when I brought it in to be looked at he sorted it out for me free of charge when I approached him. Also, this other time I messed up trying to change a pickguard and he was able to undo all of my mistakes, and also modify the pickguard I’d bought so that it fit the guitar perfectly — on top of this he set the guitar up for me (said he had no choice) and now it plays like an absolute dream. Very happy customer.

I absolutely love this place for buying music. They have a huge stock of everything from Rock to Classical. If you cannot find what you are looking for they will order stuff from a huge back catalogue. As other reviews state, the shop is over three floors selling high tech sound systems, instruments and sheet music.
Set in a fantastic arcade its well worth a visit. Is this the best music shop in the North East? –if not the best, its certainly one of them.

This shop is the best in Newcastle for sheet music however, there is a certain snobery about this place. If you can manage to ignore this then you’ll find it to be a great place. Spread over three floors, ‘Windows’, as it’s most commonly known as, sells a range of Instruments from Triangles to guitars and electric pianos. There is an instrument hire service available too. As well as musical instruments and sheet music, this shop sells hi-​fi equipment, CDs of many genres, music DVDs, T-​shirts and many other music related things. Don’t go into this shop expecting to leave with bargains. This shop is now over one hundred years old don’t you know!
