Price is really affordable but I rather pay more for better quality food. Its a steakhouse but their aged steaks are bad… Full house with lots of staff but hard to get their attention. They changed my steak which I was thankful about. Not the nicest service…

In Newcastle for a Stag weekend and the Stag declared«STEAK» and so, on the recommendation of the taxi driver(who I must find and thank!) we ended up here. Set in a large welcoming space, this is a nicely upmarket place that lacks any air of pretentiousness or exclusitivy. We took our seats, ordered some drinks and then a very friendly waiter took us through the menu. All of their meat is 30 day aged or more, but my eye was drawn to a 50 day aged USDA sirloin. I was not disappointed. When it arrived, medium rare to perfection, it was rich and buttery and melted in the mouth. Steak heaven! The rest of the party had a variety of cuts, rump and sirloin cooked to different tastes, and two opted for fish(salmon and sea bass). All of us left very very happy after delicious meals and talk of ‘best steak I ever had’ was the theme. A couple of points of notice. The fries are fries, not chips(skinny, not fat) and you also get served a wedge of lettuce. Literally wedge hewn from an iceberg lettuce covered in a sauce of your choice. I asked and apparently the lettuce thing was popular in the USA restaurants in the 40s and they brought it to this restaurant. I’m not really sure what it is supposed to do though but hey, it’s something a bit different! All in all a good steak house, they clearly know what they are doing although you will pay for it(my steak was a little over £30 but was priced as a special) with the average cost around £20 or so per steak. However I think, given the service, the ambience and the wonderfully prepared food, it was worth every penny.

First visit here as couldn’t get in at Marco Pierre Whites decided to try elsewhere, superb move! The service was friendly efficient and helpful, ordered the sirloin with surf and turf, the streak was cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth with full delicious flavour, the lobster thermidor and pawn side complimented it beautifully and they have peroni on draft! I’ll be visiting again!
