Interesting stairs that lead to no where, standard pub fare with a few challenges for the man v food fanatics nice but nothing to write home about.

Pacific gives every impression of being a large chain bar, however I am not sure if it is. There is a bar downstairs and a restaurant upstairs. It is fully disabled accessible having a lift, and is a large glass fronted building so very light inside. The food is reasonably priced however it is clearly bought in and heated rather than cooked. The kitchen is open onto the restaurant and there is a grill for burgers etc, but there are often stickers across parts of the menu stating that due to issues with their suppliers this page is not available. The downstairs bar is darker and has a good cocktail menu although is not inventive, and is reasonably priced. This is well away from the other bars and therefore is very quiet most nights.

Good location for a drink before heading to a club, between the Universities and Haymarket or Liquid. Sometimes a que at weekends both to get in and at the bar. Quite a good atmosphere though with room for abit of dancing or for sitting. Very loud music at all times but the dj makes some good choices and afew mixes of his own. They push the cocktails here and the price of them isnt too bad but never seem too strong. Can get abit rowdy later on but there are normally plenty of bouncers keeping an eye on whats going on. All in all i’d say its worth a stop off early on or if theres no que, but not a place to spend all night.
