Great little tea shop where you can select from a huge range of teas from around the world. Also has a great vegan menu.

Tea Sutra is a fantastic option for vegans and tea lovers! Being a coffee snob myself I was a little disappointed that there were no coffee options at all and the woman behind the counter looked like I had offended her by asking — oops! On the plus side it forced me to try one of their many teas on the menu and I was impressed! Each tea is presented in such a unique and lovely way from elephant tea pots to tea pots that stack on top of the cups… each accompanied by an egg timer to guide you as to when your tea is perfectly brewed which I think is a great touch! I don’t mind paying for tea when it tastes this good so thumbs up. My friend and I also ordered cake when we were here and I have to say it was perhaps the nicest slice of cake I’ve had this year so far! Not the greatest selection to choose from but when they are this good quality I will let them off. Very relaxed and chilled out atmosphere in here so a good choice for those wanting to de-stress. You can even sit on an elevated floor with your shoes off and legs crossed if you fancy it. Definitely worth a visit! Sadly for someone on the go like me I choose coffee for my caffeine fix but if I ever need to unwind I will head to Tea Sutra.

My favourite tea room in Newcastle. Has a very Buddhist atmosphere which is what drew me too it in the first place. Haven’t been in quite a while but really want to take my Mum because I know she will love it. I thoroughly recommend Tea Sutra to anyone who likes drinking tea, and loves being in a cozy relaxing atmosphere. There was a lot of students the first time I went but that was on a Saturday which is to be expected. If anyone loves tea and loves to relax, this is a great place to be and you won’t be disappointed at the experience. Plus it is one of the most unique places in Newcastle, and is great to be a part of a day out in the town.
