Solid pub crawl, massive shout out to Carla, Jeff, Tea and Sandro for making my one night(Saturday) an absolutely unreal one. Epic fun, would definitely do it again. Highly recommend this to anyone out of town looking to have a great time.

This is a large pub near the haymarket that has always got great offers on drinks. The food is well priced and arrives quickly and there is something for vegetarians. The best deals in this place are the pitchers. The toilets are clean. It has comfy sofas in one corner to sit down and chat and has tvs to watch. It is a good starting off place for when you are on a night out or a good place to get a drink after shopping or work on the way home

The most important thing about the Goose is that it’s massive and it’s round the corner from St James’. You can get served pretty quickly, even when it’s rammed. Massive selection of drinks too!

The Goose is situated in the heart of Newcastle, just a few minutes walk away from Haymarket metro station and very near to various other bars and clubs. The prices are extremely cheap and it is an ideal hang out for students who don’t mind a bit of a menacing atmosphere. The food they serve is also very cheap and tastes quite good as well. The Goose is set out as one large open room with many seats and tables in, the toilets can be quite messy but never really too bad. It is never too busy apart from a Friday or Saturday night. All in all a great place to go and get a cheap drink.

An excellent place for students as it’s so cheap! Both the food and the drinks. One of the few places in Newcastle to sell a bottle of wine for a fiver! However it does attract some customers to be wary about, keep tight ahold of your bag at all times. The toilets aren’t very nice either but you cant expect much with how cheap everything else is. It’s also a bit dingy especially if you go in at night and it’s often hard to get a seat. My one complaint is that they often run out of sunday lunches.

If you want boring place to relax, than this is the place you should go. It is situated in newcastle city centre(near haymarket and in front of central bus stops). The drink is cheap here. If offers nice sofa seat to relax. I go here mostly with my work colleagues. They always come here for leaving do or birthday do. But certainly this is not my favourite entertainment place. But, if you like light pub(not heavy night club), than this is the place for you. It has not got plenty young cheeks here. The cheeks are mostly mature women. The place itself is pretty big. ooh I forgot to mention, the food is great here and it is cheap. So, overall it’s worth to pop in here over the weekend as part of your pub crawl plan.

great prices for drink and food. the food is rather nice as well for the price you’re paying. also in a good location. the lack of atmosphere and great music is a letdown though this is another quality start up bar to get a few cheap drinks in.

This is a great bar for a quiet pint. Has more of a traditional pub feel to it and is popular with both the local and student crowds. Prices are really good for a city centre bar and it is well located between the university and the gate. Food is quite good as well.

yes-an ideal place to start your evening at the Goose-very cheap ale .I have seen sometimes for £1.65 a pint for Fosters /Smiths, because everyone knows this it gets very busy, especially the weekend but if you can manage a few on a school night then you can end up with a pretty cheap night out and there’llplenty of places to take a pew. If you fancy some scran thats pretty reasonably priced as well.

Midway between the Gate and Newcastle University it attracts a very mixed crowd of locals and students both brought in by the cheap food and drink offers. Last time i was there there was a £3 a meal menu with quite generous portions of standard pub fare. Theres two quite long bars so getting served has never been too much of a problem unless a big bar-crawl is passing through. Atmosphere is always quite good, quiet enough to chat but not too quiet that everyone else can hear you. Even though it is set out as more of a bar with high tables the deco makes it look more of a homely pub which are hard to find in this part of town.
