Great selection of manga and comics in this store, I found a few I’d been unable to find elsewhere. Store is well laid out and up-to-date, and staff are friendly and knowledgable. The prices are good for the area. Overall very good, better than the other similar stores in the area.

This place is a must for all you geeks out there. The store is packed with comics and sci-fi related paraphernalia. The parts that I’m interested in(animé and manga and cutesy things) were quite lacking though. The store isn’t hard to find with bright colours and it seems pretty new. It’s bright and open and is actually quite busy. The staff are friendly and helpful and with the store being easy to navigate, I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for(if not, request it).

A fantastic shop. Keeps 6 months of back issues of everything ever(I haven’t tested that theory quite) and is so well organised you can’t miss what you’re after. The staff are knowledgeable, happy to help and know their job welll. Prices for comics are fantastic, way cheaper than Forbidden Planet, which is nearby(which only keeps the curent isssue too). Only issue for me is the graphic novel prices. Sometimes spot on, but sometimes more expensive than Watestones, and that’s saying something Overall giving it a 5 still. Welll laid out, bright and organised but you will leave spending more than you ever intended simply because they have everything you want and more!

Travelling man is the most modern of Newcastle’s comic stores. The interior is well lit and easy to navigate, although you do feel that it is a little sterilised. There is a wide selection of comics to the front of the shop, and you can set up a standing order for comics to be stored in your name and go pick them up every few weeks. They do not keep back copies of limited covers, all variants, or rare issues though, so if you want one you need to go in anyway. There is a wide selection of DVDs and games towards the back of the shop, although these are a little more expensive than you would pay in a mainstream store.

A comic book store which sells graphic novels, role-playing games, card games, t-shirts etc. There is an odd yet pleasant smell which I think has something to do with the comics and the pristine polythene pockets. There is a DVD section containing a lot of animé and asian extreme horror. I was about to buy a DVD from here once until someone pointed out to me that I could get the same one in HMV for a way better price. Realistic action figures and statues are also sold and they make great gifts for geeks all ages.
