This café was the first of the small independents in the city to serve seriously good quality, ace coffee by a passionate owner. It still does. The food choices are very good too. Then along came Grounded, but it’s coffee is poor in comparison. Then along came the Maya café with even better coffee than Café Krem. Café Krem was the first place I saw an owner so passionate about coffee that he ordered coffee grinders that wouldn’t heat the coffee beans in the process and spending a lot of money doing so. He threw himself into competitions all over and won. Opened businesses, closed businesses. I found someone just like me. Two foodies. We could talk about coffee for hours. About the same age too — well maybe he’s a bit younger. So hats off to this place; an independent and independent minded trail blazer.

Café Krem is an Irish chain of the loveliest little café’s. Usually station in and around university campuses, their hot choc is to die for. Staff are always lovely and up for a laugh with customers. Overall, just a really lovely atmosphere to any outlet I’ve ever been in.

Yep this is a good spot, coffee is good, a little strong for my taste, but I got a half strength americano which hit the spot just right. Tray bakes are very tasty and sandwiches are fresh… but I have ONE niggle about the buns(and not only here in most places) they are not covered!!! They are sitting out beside the till exposed to the elements, a small cabinet would be a much better idea. This is a small place on Newrys main Street, just down from the Market, and it is always busy which is a pretty good sign. I love the pastries I have to say, even though they are not covered, they are just about the nicest in town. I really do recommend it here if you out for a spot of shopping and looking for a tasty quick sandwich
