I am a fan and I trust M&S. Have done for over 40 years. The coffee in their cafés is very good and while the cost is upper end(about £2 for a small coffee) you do get a tasty mini biscuit on the side. Their bacon rolls are really very good. All back bacon with very little rind fat heated and cheerfully served up at under £3. The apple turnovers and Eccles cakes(£1.50 each) are first rate, they are so good, decent sized portions and moreish crisp buttery flaky pastry, and I have the figure to prove it. It is a fact that a great deal of our cakes and pastries are margarine and cheap vegetable oil based(not to give us a better deal but to increase profits for industry) so I recommend that if you can, go and taste how good the butter based M&S stuff really tastes; it’s a world apart from the horrid margarine/veg oil stuff. You’ll also find the service is friendly and excellent and there’s free good wifi too.
