A unique drinking establishment in UK all the reviewers have some valid points. No beer, no lager, no spirits, plenty of red faces. Should not be missed

Faced with the uncommon layout and the(at this stage of the evening) blur of barrels I couldn’t quite see clearly, I welcomed recommendations and recognising the name of a cider, Diesel, from somewhere, seized upon it. It was as lovely as the barmaid who served it for me. This is a wonderfully unique bar. I fully recommend a visit. Like going back in time in some respects. They have some fruit wine(like gooseberry!) if you don’t like cider(but no beer, which was normal for traditional cider houses).

absolute classic, very olde worlde and has all old ciders and elderflower wine, used to be for old people but now attracts the youunger drinkers. Various snacks available i. e pasties etc very old bar that used to have wood chips all overthe floor, rather uncomfortable to sit down in and is situated oppossite newton abbot hospital and around a few of the classic newton abbot pubs

The Cider Bar is a must stop when your out in newton abbot, from the wide range of Cider’s and wines to the dated décor adds a good effect to the very well known pub stop. Always friendly staff and fairly quick service, the olde cider bar is highly recommended from a newton abbot local. Enjoy

Be careful. Very careful. If the cider doesn’t get you, the parsnip wine might. The décor might seem a bit on the spartan side(wooden benches, bare floor) but it works. The details of the place are a bit hazy to be honest but I remember smiling staff, several different fruit wines, and more varieties of cider than you can shake a Granny Smith at, served from wooden casks behind the bar. Worth the trip but make sure you have a designated driver.
