Lidl

Lidl tools are top quality and far cheaper than other tool/​diy stores, I got a socket set, I knew by how heavy it was that it would be good!

There is a general opinion around that Lidl is cheap and cheerful; An M&S for the poor. Even Frankie Boyle rattles off jokes about it.
If any of these rumour-​mongers actually shop here, it’s clear that they have zero interest in food. I am in the fortunate position of being able to shop elsewhere if I choose, but I opt to go to Lidl for a range of products. Really good chorizo and other cured meats, extra virgin olive oil, weird cheese, normal-​looking vegetables that aren’t all plastic wrapped and of a uniform size.
Just because you pop in for a box of, say, Daz or Philadelphia cheese and can only find German stuff called Schadenreineger or Hüttenkäse and it’s half the price, doesn’t mean it’s rubbish.
It is a good thing that Lidl is popular.
