Perfect… and yet so average. This place has gotten so much right: — An amazing décor that instantly gives you that warm, cosy feeling(something that a lot of new buildings in particular lack) whilst still being modern and contemporary. The finishing touches like the outdoor fireplace, rotisserie chicken, indoor wood burner and large kitchen window(allowing you to see the chefs in action) really set this place apart from other chain-owned pubs. — A great team of staff that are both friendly, efficient and genuinely try to ensure you have a good experience — An impressive selection of ale and lagers on offer(it is a brewery-owned chain after all) And yet there is one key piece missing from the list above, the food. The food here I can only describe as average, which for the higher than other chain-owned pubs prices is a bit of a disappointment. A bit tasteless is how I would best describe the food, not bad but also not great. Overall this place has amazing potential, it’s in a good location(just off the motorway M5, J24) next to a lot of new housing developments, a great building, superb staff and a wide selection of drinks. If only the food can be improved then this will become a superb little gem of a place.
