Great takeaway food. The delivery driver is always nice and doesn’t expect a tip which is very unusual. Quite pricey but the food is well worth it!

I visited this restaurant last week with a friend from work, we were amazed at the size of the place, the décor was up to the job, clean and tidy. The starter was served in no time, fresh and hot. the main course came soon after, as again the food was hot, the chicken was fresh and the pathia curry was as i like it, fruity and hot. The food is excellent and the service is fast and friendly, but i did feel like i was being rushed out after we had finished are meal…

I must say I was sceptical when I saw Coleens’ review: sometimes places that are described in such glowing terms by other people are a let down when you try them. However, I am always open to fresh experience and like to try things for myself. I, m a «semi professional eater» so I visited on my own a few nights ago and was I pleasantly surprised! Décor, seating etc all fine but I was not really paying attention to them. For me, the FOOD is where its at. I didnt bother with a starter(although I was tempted), going straight for the main course. My Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi was luscious, the tender juicy chunks of chicken breast a perfect foil to the intense heat of fresh green chillies(I had asked for extra!) The Onion Pilau rice was fabulous, proper Basmati rice cooked traditionally(home style) I could have enjoyed it just on its own. You really have to taste it to see what I’m on about, its a million miles away from the dry, sad little grains laced with bright E numbered colours which is served in too many places. I ordered a side dish of Tarka Dahl which had the proper consistency ie thicker than soup but thinner than, say, mushy peas. This is one of my favourite dishes but its sooo hard to find it just right, the spice should be restrained except for the rich garlic and onion«bagaarr» topping and there no limits apply! The final item was another of my favourites and is always a test of a curry house. I’m talking about a Paratha, a classic flatbread layered with ghee, soimething like pan cooked puff pastry. Now it is quite labour intensive to make these right and they have to be cooked fairly slowly and turned frequently. Thats why a lot of places rush them and turn out a product which if it were not for the un-educated palates of many customers, they would never get away with. OK so I cheated on Weight Watchers last week but the buttery, flaky delight that I was served was worth it! To tell the truth I was not bothered about the prices(Upper side of middle), if food is important to you and you want it just right and you can tell the difference like I can, then taste and taste and taste are the three most important things!

I visited this restaurant last night and thought I would spread the word about this place! The restaurant is very luxuriously decorated, with deep pile carpets and marble bar, subtle lighting and intimate booth type seating… The staff were attentive and friendly, the manager introducing himself on our arrival and making a particular fuss of my two children who were in tow. As for the food, the menu is amazing with fish a speciality and all sourced locally. I had Shamundori Rotan for starters — beautiful plump tender scallops in delicious, but light spices with fresh herbs. My children both
