Came for lunch — GREAT lunch specials. Had Phò of course, too, for dessert. Super happy. Great personable staff. Plum sauce with the summer rolls, excellent. Do it.

I’m from Southern California, just north of Orange County where the best Vietnamese food in the world is. Traveling internationally 9 months out of the year, I look for Vietnamese everywhere I go and Eat Saigon is easily the best I’ve found anywhere in the UK. Seriously fresh, well prepared, made to order with attentive service.

We walked up and down the «Welly Road» on a Sunday looking for somewhere that suited the four of us. Our first choice, The Thai Emerald, which does a great buffet on a Sunday, was fully booked, so we walked back into town. The restaurant is very cafeteria style, laid back and casual, which is really what we wanted.
The menu is a little overwhelming if you haven’t eaten Vietnamese food before — luckily, all four of us have been to the country, so understood most of the dishes (but not all!). The very friendly manager came and helped — and everything was really delicious, from the superb freshly made fruit drinks to the food, which we all agreed was quite reminiscent of our trips to Vietnam.
For a casual lunch, this is highly recommended.
