Used to be my fave place to eat until 8 of us eat there and all became very sick morning after, great service and food was good when I called to tell them I basically got laughed at!!!

An Excellent restaurant spotlessly kept with friendly and attentive service. Part owned by executive chef Tipu Rahman who won the International Indian Chef of the year award. The food and menu is superb cooked in a healthy manner with minimum oil. A good atmosphere with a better than average clientele, this restaurant has raised the bar for all restaurants in Northampton not just Indian. The restaurant has also been frequented by many high profile people including Ed and David Milerband. Booking is advisable especially at weekends, Wednesdays and Thursdays for which they are usually fully booked resulting in people waiting for tables although I understand a first fllor extension is being planned.

I’ve visited Tamarind on a number of occasions with work colleagues and normally take advantage of their Wednesday evening early-bird special offer. If you like spicy food, I’d steer clear of the Lamb Naga which I found very bitter due to the spice mix used(it wasn’t actually that hot!). Personally, I’d recommend the Chicken Hariyo Khursani. Very very good and a credit to the chef!

we use this for takeaway mostly, have eaten-in on a couple of occasions delivery is available & is always prompt we usually order for 4 – 6& regularly get stuff thrown in for free(last time it was a portion of bombay potatoes & a bottle of wine) the portions aren’t as big as other take aways, but the quality of the food is consistantly good/tasty the restaurant is comfortable, nicely decorated, unhurried, & never ‘rowdy’
