Grosvenor’s Fish Bar is not only an absolutely fantastic fish and chip restaurant but one of Norwich’s pride and joys! The owner is a great guy who is often stood outside greeting and accommodating customers. The menu, while serving the classic options, offers wonderful exclusive dishes that will keep you coming back again and again until you have tried them all! The downstairs seating area is also a great surprise and a lovely environment to be, with a selection of different Tabasco sauces, chip salts and napkins at every table. I truly cannot recommend Grosvenor’s enough and would personally recommend the cod taco with mango salsa, the GLORIOUS mackerel sandwich and the wonderfully crispy squid rings!

There is a reason why this chip shop is highly rated. It is simply put, not your every day chip shop. I often have burger and chips from here, a bit concerning as burgers are usually awful, but not here, I don’t know what they use, but the beef tastes great, sauces are tasty and their salad in the bin tastes fresh. Service is fast, décor is unique and I have been going here since my college days — 9 years on, they are still providing great quality fish and chips but you can now eat in. Superb work!

Honestly one of the best chip shops I’ve ever been lucky enough to attend! Delicious food at reasonable prices and some great discounted meal deals. The staff are always sincerely welcoming and love to engage in conversation with the customers — it really is service with a smile here! The 40’s style décor adds a really nice touch with the addition of a genuine underground dining experience. The ability to pop over to The Birdcage for a pint with your chips is also an extra bonus!

Came here several times while studying abroad at UEA. Seemed ridiculously cheap — 5 pounds for an entire fried fish and chips and all the malt vinegar you could dream of. The kind folks behind the counter would sometimes suggest the fish that was the freshest. And it was the best fish and chips I have ever had. I couldn’t remember the name of this place so I just pored over all the fish and chips search results for Norwich, it was that good. Cute, small location. Sometimes too crowded so we’d take our food outside. Worth it. If/when I go back to Norwich, this’ll be one of my first stops.

Good. Very, very good. Recently made over there are now a couple of tables to sit and eat at. Which is a good thing being as how it is generally raining in Norwich. You’ll pay a few peenies more than in the market round the corner, but the quality is that much better. Chips and gravy nice.(And that is a lot of chips drowing in really good gravy). The folks are friendly, the trade is brisk and, if you don’t want to eat in the shop, you can take you food over the way into the Birdcage and enjoy it with a couple of pints. Recommended.

Dubious fish and greasy chips, piping hot, wrapped in yesterday’s news, from a dingy shop on a corner named after a goat. It is nothing to write home about, but if you’ve spent the evening downing lager, this is a great place to soak it up.
