Lovely quirky little Coffee House on the outskirts of town. The homemade cake was delicious and they cater for most tastes with a big range of sandwiches, panini’s and bagels. The seating is limited but I’ve always managed to get a good spot at lunchtimes and it’s busy most of the time, plus there’s a nice terrace out the front which is perfect for people watching.

I’m almost reluctant to sing this place’s praises lest it becomes too popular — it’s a very small store & I want to be able get my fix when I need it! In all seriousness though, I can, hand on heart, say that I’ve never had a bad Americano on any of my visits. A full strong flavour, without necessitating the extra shot I usually go for in inferior establishments. The sandwich range is handmade as you order & so can take a few minutes, but well worth the wait. My former favourite was cheese on toast, yep, just plain ol’ cheese on toast — sounds boring? No way. Fresh, thick slices of toast, saturated with strong cheddar — simple, but effective & very tasty. Currently I’m deeply into the grilled haloumi & salad sandwich on white bread. Then you’ve got the homemade cakes & cookies. Last one I tried was a Berry & Vanilla muffin/cake which was huge & delicious, complimenting the second caffeine hit of the visit. The Little Red Roaster is an independent neighbourhood store, a little out of town & off the beaten track, but well worth the trip for the best coffee in Norwich.
