you would have though curry lounge would have got its act together after gordon ramseys visit but evidently not. The dishes are just bizarre. After hearing it had been on kitchen nightmares I was curious to see what it was like hoping ramsey had turned it into something incredible. Maybe i shold have actually watched the programme because i was very disapointed. I’m not sure whether these are traditional indian dishes or just strange anglo-asia concocsions. I had a terrible starter that was a green pepper with the top chopped off filled with rice that was completely over powered by the cardumin seeds that had been poared in making the whole thing just unplesant. I can’t even remember what else I had so that can’t have made a good impression either. service is also poor and it seems to attract big groups of skallywags who seem to love the place for some reason!

So, the Gordon Ramsay thing I believe they made a very astute move in securing themselves a place on that show. This is a curry house — with a difference. The difference is that they keep telling you about Gordon Ramsay. The curry is okay — probably a little more fancy than I would like, and when i say fancy, i mean bland. I know good food, and I know bland food served on an attractive plate. I want drama in a curry house. I want someone to order a vindaloo and cry from the hotness. I want to see a naan bread as big as the table. I want an unidentifyable substance that looks too luminous for its own good to be in one of the pickle trays. I want lots of dishes to be on the table and not be able to fit everything on. This ain’t got it — it’s got a weak story about Gordon Ramsay. Check out the Mem Saab for great fine dining curry — only two minute walk from this place, or any number of good curry places in Nottingham for a late night slap up curry and beer session.

I visited here a couple of weeks ago and we probably tested their service levels more than the average table as we had a seating for 18 people. Despite the large numbers they did really well and managed to take the orders and get the food and drink out to us in relatively good time. The décor is a modern style curry house and the ambience is definitely on the smart and funky side. It is well located in the middle of Nottingham and therefore handy for the bars, cinemas, theatres to visit before or after your meal. My food was very tasty indeed(Karachi Chicken) and the prices for the menu in there were reasonable. A generally good curry restaurant for you to try and comes well recommended.

Having seen the Curry Lounge featured on Channel 4’s Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, we just knew we had to check it out. Unfortunately, the infamous antlers were no longer there though. The restaurant has a contemporary and relaxing feel to it(with the unusual addition of plasma TVs) which allows you to unwind and enjoy your meal. The food is tasty, authentic, and fresh and appeals to all palettes whether you like your food extra hot or just mild. The service was friendly and efficient and the food arrived in good time. We keep meaning to go back, but haven’t had the time yet. It’s next on our list.

Well this is the place that appeared on ‘Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares’. I don’t know what it was like before but it is fantastic now! The food, although on the expensive side, is extremely good(I had the special) and the staff are attentive(but not too attentive!). We’ve walked passed many times but been put off by the TV thing. Glad to have finally gone in.

I had read mixed reviews of The Curry lounge and wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy it but I was pleasantly surprised. We had booked a table for 8 and although we were early, we were seated as soon as we arrived. The waiters are very attentive. We didn’t go 10 minutes at a time without a waiter coming to see if we were ready to order or if everything was OK or if we wanted anymore drinks etc We were only there 5 minutes before we were chomping away on Popadoms which arrived in big round baskets complete with a tray of pickles. Our starters weren’t far behind and the waiters were efficient and serving and clearing away. I am not a fan of curries really so I ordered the Lamb Korma which was delicious. I ate all of it and finished off all the rice too. The manager came over to see if we were enjoying ourselves and when we told him we were celebrating my friend’s birthday he arranged a little surprise and sent over a complimentary glass of his favourite whisky along with a little cake with a candle on top which tasted delicious and really made my friend’s night. I love the décor and the lighting and the place has a great atmosphere. I probably wouldn’t go again as I said I am not really a fan of Curries but I would urge anyone who does like them to try it out :)
