I thought Scottish chips were the best in the world, until I tried these ones. Not to say that Scottish chippies, there are some really good ones. But Hilltop chips are so tasty and cheap.
The fish is massive and I could talk ages another the mushy peas and I don’t even like mushy peas (or so I thought!). They are moist, minty and super moreish.
The food is also so cheap. I always have to go here when in Nottingham. Salivating just writing this!

Hilltop Chippy is an institution. Not only the best chips, fish and kebabs for miles around, but amazing value too. You can easily feed two or three people for £10, it’s that good.
All of the food tastes lovely and fresh, especially the excellent and enormous fish. There are a range of lunchtime and other deals available too, however the standard prices here are great.
The mushy peas are also excellent and I can’t recall having better mushy peas at any other chippy anywhere.
The only thing that lets the place down is the sometimes strange opening hours, especially around holidays… which is when I really want to visit!!!
