This pub was originally named after it was hit by a bomb in the second world war… Or so some would have you believe. I am in no doubt that the original main building is a century old but the conservatory area must have been added in the late 80s. The view out across the rolling hills is unmatched, but it’s just a shame that the food is very mediocre pub grub and the tables slightly sticky in that pub– turned-eatery kind of way. Otherwise, lovely location with a play area for the children. By all means stop by if you’re on a bike ride, but if by car, drive on.
