Lion Inn

The Lion is a popular real ale pub in the suburb of New Basford and is conveniently accessable by tram. It is large, friendly and has a nice seating area outside.
Delicious home-​made food is served lunchtimes and evenings and some form of entertainment is organised for most nights. Entertainment includes local bands, open mic, quizzes and a Sunday afternoon jazz session.

with 11 real ales on sale and th usual kegs this is the place to go with friends or family. the live music on friday and saturday nights is brilliant and its free. i take my parents there on sunday lunch cos they have live jazz and the food is superb. its great in summer cos we all sit in the huge beer garden and my sister brings the kids cos theres a lovely big lawn for them all to play on. i didnt realise it was there until i passed it on the tram. i even eventually dragged my brother there and you cant get him away from the place now especially on a thursday night cos they do a fab open mic session. its hidden away but its friendly atmosphere and the feeling of being safe rather than a rowdy lager louts pub has us all hooked for good.
