Revolution, or Revolution de Cuba, is a chain of bars and restaurants that you will find in many cities in the UK. The only other one I’ve visited so far is the rather striking Derby restaurant(see my review). The one on Nottingham ‘s Foreman Street isn’t quite as stunningly designed, though the décor is bright, attractive and friendly. It appeals mostly to 20-somethings. The food you’ll get is basically the same at every one of their restaurants. I ordered a grilled lemon chicken«small meal» as a starter(three chicken sticks and a dip — pleasant but a bit overpriced at £ 5.95) and the chicken, chorizo and pesto parpadelle at £ 9.95, which was well prepared and tasty. The service ranges from indifferent to very friendly. Let me elaborate: Attractive young women and male 20-ish hipsters get the A treatment — waiters will ask them during the meal whether it’s all right. Older people, especially single travellers such as myself, don’t get that much attention, although I would not go so far as to call the staff unfriendly. So, good but a tad pricey food, very pleasant décor and moderately friendly service will earn this branch ***.

A busy, happening resto/bar. Young hip, uni type crowd. Pizza was good, other peoples food looked good too. Very odd when we were told there was only 1 serve taking drink orders for the whole place and we’d be better off getting our own Drinks at the bar! Huh? Why couldn’t the servers take our food AND drinks orders?!? Anyway our server did take our drink order in the end. Nice place. We’d go back.

Standard Revolution offering although this one does have a slightly up-market feel mainly due to its location and interior decoration. Good for shots!

there’s two in the city centre and this is the newer one, it’s good at weekends but it does fill up pretty quick, the music is really good the drinks are nice but can be a little pricey, you can get a revo card which i think will hep out with the cost with special offers and stuff.
