Their ready made salads selection is wide ranging, healthy and of good value. I love this place. Why can’t this be in the U.S.??

Love the selection here, and the store is clean and orderly, much nicer than most of the M&S Food I’ve been to in London.

One of the things I’ve come to like about M&S is the food side of things, and this place in Summertown is a perfect example. The prepared foods available are wonderful and the selection is quite good. The fruit and veg looked fine, as did the meats. The staff was helpful and check out was quick w/self-scan. Good to go!

This particular Marks and Spencer is really just a grocery store(not a big M&S like the one downtown that has clothes, etc.) — and has a lot of good, fresh food as well as some innovative sauces and kits. Their prices are not bad, even though I think they have a reputation for being the pricey option; but when doing my own informal price comparisons with Sainsbury and Tesco, they all seem to be pretty similar. M&S tends to have a pretty good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. I think their weakness is in the fact that they mostly only have their own store brands of nonperishables, but they’ve started to incorporate other brands of cereal, etc. But generally, you can be sure you’re going to find what you need here, with good quality, and at a decent price. I’m a fan of their Indian cooking sauces, some of their pasta sauces, and their house-brand cereals. Just a note: For anyone with experience with actual Mexican food, their enchilada kits will be a disappointment. But that’s pretty typical for Britain, anyway… you don’t really come here for Latin American food ;)

Mmm I love M&S food! It’s usually very good quality, organic and just a bit different from standard supermarket fare. They do lovely, chunky gingerbread biscuits, some delicious sweets, and some delightful cherry tomatoes. Obviously, there’s a whole load more, but they’re my favourites. At Christmas time check out their packages: the profiteroles are as good as many restaurants, and their ready-made soups are a thousand times better than cup-a-soup and fantastic for cold winter evenings. It’s probably a bit expensive for general supermarket shopping, but it’s fantastic for a summer treat(unbelievable huge strawberries) or even just for lunch. Their pasta salads are very wholesome(I love the chicken, tomato and basil) and surprisingly filling, and if you’re into sushi or wraps, they do a good range. There are lots of soft drinks like smoothies and fruit juice, or lighty flavoured sparkling water. It’s making me hungry just thinking about it

This is an expensive supermarket but all their eggs are free range including all the products that are made with eggs. The coffee shop has been revamped and is bigger but not as friendly as it used to be. All the coffee they serve in the coffee shop is fairtrade which, I believe, makes it the biggest chain of fairtrade cafes in the UK. Sitting outside in the summer is rather nice but take your sunglasses as the shiny metal tables can hurt your eyes if the sun is shining.

This M&S store is for food«only», and M&S sells only their own branded foods which are superb. There is a very small section for basic houseware/kitchenware and basic clothing such as socks and underwear. The food is particularly lovely, with an excellent bakery and very nice selection of wines. However, the veg and fruits seem very expensive compared to the two cheap supermarkets(Coop and Somerfield) next door and across the road. Veggies and fruit are generally not branded anyway, so it is more difficult to justify paying a premium for these at M&S. The check-outs at this store can be crowded at peak times but there are plenty of self-service tills which are very convenient, and as most people use the baskets and not trolleys the waits at the checkouts are generally short. There is a bus stop in front of the store, and a public car park(only 60p for an hour here) behind the Coop store next door. There is a nice café in the store which is quite large and has tables outside which is lovely on a warm day. I buy cheap M&S vouchers online from and use them here regularly to save money.

Well set out store selling most of the goods you would expect to find in the larger store in oxford. whilst they say it is simply food they do lovely flowers and also gifts and accessories. They also have a small coffee bar where you can relax after your shop. There is parking though not specifically for marks and spencers at the rear of the building.
