Wonderful place. If you are looking for good Indian in Summertown don’t go any further. We have had take away as well as eaten at the restaurant. The food was delicious. Very friendly professional staff. The owner is on site making sure things run smoothly. Worth a visit.

Food is fairly good but the service could scarcely have been worse. We ate there and broke a large group into three tables. We tried a large variety of the entrees on the menu. The food was generally under flavored and not spicy enough. It took so long to get the food that much of it was no longer hot. The wait staff were absurdly inattentive. When the appetizers were finally brought out after a long wait, we had to ask for plates. The waiter wanted to known how many we’d need… Um one each if that’s ok… Given the many alternatives in the area, if give them a chance to improve their service before returning.

Yum, Yum, just thinking of the Saffron in Summertown sets my gastric juices in motion… I have now been to this delightful restaurant at least half a dozen times and have never been disappointed, indeed I am finding my way through a menu which is full of wonderfully tasty dishes. Their vegetarian selection is superb and it must definitely be one of the best Indian restaurants in the north of Oxford, maybe even in the whole of Oxford. I haven’t given it 5 stars because the service, though good, is a little aloof(though the Manager is very courteous), but this is just a minor issue given the superlative quality of their food. What more can I say???

This place was close when I spent a month in Oxford so I ate there at least once a week, it was fantastic, best Indian I’ve ever had.

Simple authentic Indian cuisine in the heart of vibrant Summertown; Saffron provides a wide range of dishes at competitive prices while not comprimising on quality. The menu consisted of many usual suspects for a British Indian restaurant but also had some more interested items especially for the Vegetarian such as Paneer Shashlik. Two courses for three people including one cocktail came to £65. Note, this place also does Mango Lassi!
