My group enjoyed Sunday dinner– totally cleaned our plates! I can’t wait to come back for Afternoon Tea.

This was a god send of a place for lunch time. I stumbled upon Taylor’s after rejecting the idea of going to McDonalds. This place has fantastic prices for some high quality sandwiches. I always got the caprese sandwiches and they never disappointed. I will always try to come back whenever I visit again.

I can’t knock this place at all. Everything the sell looks lovely and what I’ve had(various sandwiches, soups, cakes and other tasty bits) have all been very very good. The coffee is lovely too. They food can feel a little pricey at times, but it’s kinda worth it. Expect long queues at lunch.

Do you love mayonnaise? If so, you’re in the right place. A number of the sandwich fillers are variations on protein suspended in mayo, and then you’re offered a slather of mayo during the making of the sammich. Surprisingly fresh bread with a nice crusty crunch to the baguette, and the cress sprouts were a pleasant addition. The shop carries all the fancy picnic items you’d want for a summer day, so you know where to come for various jams, spreads, and little cakes. Saving grace is the price point, since everything comes out to less than £4.

This is a pretty big branch of Taylor’s near the museum. It’s a nicer sammich shop, but honestly doesn’t have the most amazing variety or fresh ingredients. Most of the chicken fillings are basically mayo salads. The curried chicken is decent, but still, mayo. You basically pick your bread, substantive filling, then three salad fillings. I guess they were out of vinegar, so they offered us lemon juice. The mozzarella was in these hard, browning little balls, so no thanks. They have falafel, but no pita, and somehow hummus is a separate filling, so I’m not sure how you get a falafel with hummus. The bread was the best part, a fresh, crusty baguette. Okay drink selection and chhip selection. An assortment of niceish items to take home and use, too, sauces and such. There are a few tables outside, but otherwise it’s carry out. Friendly, helpful staff.

This is a tiny sandwich place that has a great selection and high quality sandwiches. I got my favorite curried chicken and it was excellent. They also have a variety of fresh cookies and I tried the white chocolate chip. The prices are quite reasonable, the service was friendly, and the wait was not long at all on a Sunday. I definitely will return.

Great place for a good sandwich. Not a very long wait and the quality is always great.

My experience here was only with their sandwiches, so I will speak mostly to that. There are quite a few of these in Oxford, which seems to be a good thing thus far. The selection of sandwiches was above average and so was the preparation/final product. Really enjoyed the panini I got and my girlfriend loved what she had, too. Would recommend this place as a quick sandwich stop. Will have to explore other aspects!

Hard to give an accurate rating based on coffee and cookie, but both were very good(hard to beat a well-prepared illy). Cookie was expensive but tasty. I would return for the great-looking pasta and sauces, so rating may improve with experience!

Taylor’s is an exceptional shop, providing a number of quirky and interesting delicacies such as unique chocolates and sweets, which make great gifts and excuses for indulgence. Additionally, they do sandwiches, although in my view not outstanding, their sandwiches are delicious and reasonably prices. Overall, Taylor’s is a great shop and I’d highly recommend everyone pay it a visit!

I’ve visited Taylors twice in the past two days, since it’s around the corner from my room. One of my visits was much more enjoyable than the other. The freshly-made sandwiches are pretty good — mom and I both had the crayfish salad(as that’s something we don’t really get in the states). They were fresh-tasting, filling, and reasonably priced. Given the positive experience on the first day, we decided to stop there again the next day; when you’re tired and walking all day, you want familiarity. However, since we stopped there after lunch, there was a MUCH more limited selection(two chorizo pepper sandwiches, one mozzarella sandwich, and one duck wrap). Disappointed, we walked across the street to the other Taylors(I’m not quite sure how it works… this one had more pre-made food — pre-packaged sandwiches, etc.). I grabbed a smoked salmon sandwich, and mom went with mozzarella. Sadly, the mozz sandwich was bland, and the cream cheese to salmon ratio in my sandwich was a little high for my taste. So, the overall verdict is go for the fresh food, avoid the pre-made stuff.

OK, so it is not cheap, but if you want range, good sourcing and erudite combinations, this is one of the best places to get a sandwich in Oxford. They also have a large deli so you can, of course, pick up other things aside from a baguette or some such. Bacon and Blue Cheese is esp. great.

Taylors has become our neighborhood go to for coffees and deli needs. It packs a lot of deli and soup choices in their little locations. I recently had their cajun craw fish sandwich and it was delish! They also have a nice little pasta bar at their location, probably their best value item.

This place, like no other, deserves straight 5 stars for their sandwiches. — best quality ingredients(e.g. their pesto is fantastic, best I ever had) — nice service — individual sandwich requests — cheap — delicious

I’ve always liked this place. It is very expensive, but I’ve never had bad food or bad service. They will make sandwiches(which are delicious) exactly to your specifications, or you can grab one of the wrapped sandwiches that they make fresh every day. The fillings in the pre-made sandwiches tend to be interesting or at the very least good quality. You can also find various imported cakes, candies, biscuits, and other delicacies here, and they have a nice selection of drinks. If you want to treat yourself, Taylors is a good place to go.

Taylor’s is a great place to pick up a sandwichyou can choose between dozens of fillings and several different bread options. The staff can be a bit surly and they do like to get you along the queue as quickly as possible, so make sure you keep on your toes. The genuine Parma ham is particularly good. They also do fresh soups, pre-made sandwiches, and bottled drinks. There are a couple of seats but you’d be lucky to find them empty. As for the rest of the shop, it’s an Aladdin’s cave of interesting international confectionery and biscuits. It’s quite expensive but the fudge is great, and they also sell a few brands of high-quality chocolate.

Taylor’s is intimidating because it sells posh goods at similar prices. That does mean that it is the only place(at the time I was there) where you can find certain things, like Valrhona chocolate and Hungarian salami, two of my occasional indulgences. However, Taylor’s makes sandwiches. They are delicious and the same price as every other sandwich place. The ingredients are better quality, and the service is generally friendly, though often rushed at peak time –you have to make yourself known, or sometimes they’ll keep going to the louder person next to you. Did I mention the service? That’s because they make your sandwich for you, so you get exactly what you want(«extra pepper!») and it hasn’t been sitting there for a few hours, like *those other* sandwich establishments. Why would you ever go anywhere else?

Taylors Deli is reliable on the weekdays, but not so much on the weekends(at least the one in Summertown isn’t). During the week it’s buzzing with staff and customers, and the made-to-order sandwich bar is stocked to the brim. Weekends are a different story though — the sandwich bar is closed, and what’s available is pretty slim pickings. Highly recommend Monday through Friday. Avoid on weekends.

This is a fantastic place to get a sandwich — they’re all made fresh on the premises and packed full of carefully prepared, tasty filling. I love the chicken curry — absolutely delicious. Also worth a try is the hummus and roast veg and the crayfish. This deli does a good coffee and runs a good loyalty scheme, so works out at very good value. My favourite thing about this place is the selection of american sweets that it has — I’m a big fan of Jelly Belly beans and struggle to find them in other shops. Nip in and have a good look at the deli bar too — there’s a huge selection of really fresh stuff to pick. Come here too for pasta, preserves and jams — if you’re into your food, go and have a look.

Taylors has a really appetising range of baguettes in its window, making it an attractive stop for a hastily-bought lunch. There’s rarely much of a queue and there is a great variety of inventive sandwich fillings, involving such delights as salmon and prawns. Everything is fresh and very tasty, although relatively expensive. There are a couple of seats inside, which are very welcome if it’s raining or you’re trying to balance your sandwich while carrying lots of bags. While you’re in there, have a look at the variety of take-home foods, which are unusual and not only add a touch of variety to your cooking, but can also make really good gifts.
