This is a pretty good Thai restaurant that seems to be really popular among locals and tourists alike. That’s not necessarily a good thing because it can be very crowded, noisy, and hot(especially downstairs). The service is not very good but the food is very tasty and worth a return visit. I especially enjoyed the calamari appetizer(don’t remember the Thai name) and the green chicken curry. And it’s a festive environment if you’re into that bric-à-brac look that TGIFridays cultivated in the states. Except, imagine that a Thai flea market exploded all over the walls.

Loved this place! The food was really tasty. They also have discount for students. It is definitely a nice spot for the college students. Tried Thai Pinto Siam — set menu for 2 ppl. The four different curries are pretty authentic. Also tried crispy squid, it’s ok.

We were feeling like having Thai food for a good few days now and jumped at the first opportunity that came our way. Whilst beginning our wander around Oxford, we came across Thaikun just when we were starting to feel peckish, around lunch time. So, yes, we didn’t need to think twice. We opted for chicken satay, thai green curry, massaman chicken curry, a sticky rice and a jasmine rice. The food was delicious and the service was commendable. The restaurant itself was made to look like a busy street in Bangkok and the set up worked. Overall we were satisfied enough to go back again or to try one of their branches closer to home and would definitely recommend Thaikhun.

I wish I had more stars to give — the place is amazing! I won a Twitter competition to get a meal for two & what a prize — we were treated to anything we wanted from the menu including drinks — unfortunately both of us were driving do we weren’t able to take full advantage of this! We ordered prawn crackers to nibble on while we looked over the menu. We chose three starters to share(chicken satay, fried pork & salt/pepper squid) — the pork was incredible, we couldn’t get enough of it! For my main I had the panang goong(prawn curry) with coconut rice — again totally delicious. To finish we shared a mango sorbet & coconut ice cream which we really didn’t need as we were both so full but it was lovely. I washed all this down with a gin cooler & a mango smoothie. The atmosphere & décor in the place was fantastic with do much to look at all around the place. I would highly recommend visiting on your birthday as you will be treated to happy birthday being sung to you at your table — ooh and definitely order the self serving beer pump for your table!!!

Got there at 6:15 on a Monday evening. Short wait, seated within 5 mins. Had the spring roll appetizer, pad thai chicken, pad mee Phuket tofu. Pad Thai was good but the pad mee Phuket was outstanding. Will return.

No reviews for this popular place? Surprising! A friend and I were trying to find the local favourite in Oxford and passed the very busy Thaikun. There was a line and the girl in front of us said it was an hour long wait so we headed out. After wandering the main roads of Oxford some more, I stopped a local citizen and asked him for recommendations. His first was Thaikun! So we decided to head back and put our name on the lost while we liked around for the other suggestions. Ended up just being a half hour wait, which we spent at the bar and then got seated. First of all, this place is authentic. I feel like they rounded up every Thai in England and bribed them to work here because that’s where they were. I asked for the waitress’s favourite and she narrowed it to 3. I ended up getting the curry duck and don’t regret it. Fun ambiance too with Thai writing on the wall — very Thai grunge feel to it. What I loved was that they had some of the more uncommon Thai specialties on there and not just a pad thai. Prices aren’t half bad either(Mains about £8−12).
