The Rusty Bicycle

A wonderful pub, at least in the opinion of this Yank. Both beers we had were excellent, the burgers are among the best I’ve ever had, and the ambiance is lively and fun. What more can one look for in a pub?

We’re remiss to have given this place a review after living here for a year and a half already. This place is fantastic, off the beaten path of course between Iffley and Cowley Rds, but great food and great beer and drinks. The burgers are kick ass. Their sister pub, the Rickety Press in Jericho, is also another of our favorites. Highly recommended.

I’m surprised this place hasn’t had more reviews. It’s an utterly brilliant little pub in a fast-​improving part of Oxford. It’s run by a couple of young men and they bring a true dedication to this business. Fabulous range and quality of beers and excellent, simple food. In times when other pubs struggle and go out of business this place is thriving and deservedly so. There are a number of these types of pubs that have appeared in Oxford These places have a good clientel who enjoy the atmosphere and the banter. It’s like the re-​invention of the pub with all the bad old thuggish bits taken out and the wonderful traditional bits kept in. This will be the saviour of the British pub which is otherwise under siege on all sides.
