Tilbury Lodge Private Hotel

We stayed at Tilbury Lodge over the last bank holiday weekend and couldn’t have been made more welcome by Stephan and his friendly team at Tilbury. When we checked in we were treated to tea and homemade cakes in the conservatory which was delicious and most welcome! When we got to our room we were delighted to fine homemade shortbread and chocolate chip cookies, which were divine, a small bottle of wine, chocolates and a small fruit basket. The room was large and modern with a lovely view over the back garden and a very comfy bed. At breakfast there were delicious homemade banana breads as well as fresh fruit, cereals, toast and preserves and of course a tasty full English which was beautifully presented. I recommend Tilbury to anybody staying in the Oxford area — you won’t regret it but you may put on a pound or two!

Very comfortable and cute Bed&Breakfast just outside Oxford town center (ten minute drive or bus to town). 85/​night for a double.
The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The bath was nice despite lacking a shower. I really appreciated the blackout curtains but wish there was more sound insulation between our room and the stairs (thin door I think).
Breakfast (between 8 and 9 weekdays) was a tasty selection of fruit, cereal, yogert, and toast as well as made-​to-​order eggs or full English breakfast. Yum.

A really great bed and breakfast. Our room was really luxurious — a massive bed, really nice bathroom and even a foot spa, all for only £70. The breakfast was really nice, and fully customisable. This is a family run place, and very friendly. I’d definitely go back again.
