I walked past this store on the way back from pubbing about 7 times before I was finally able to go in. I was excited, my anticipation fueled by the fact that it had always been closed when I walked past and the dresses were hung in the window display, tantalizing me from behind the glass. «If you’d only remember to get your bum down here during business hours we’d be hanging in your closet, looking all cute right now,» they taunted. So my friend Candace and I eventually bounced in, all excited, and found… nothing. The cutest stuff was in the window and the rest of the selection ran pretty large and was kind of pedestrian. We both agreed it wasn’t the price tags — we’d have dropped the cash for a really pretty dress — but the prices were very high for some of the pieces made of synthetic fabrics. Also, I don’t even remember any sales people approaching us or hanging around. Oh well.

I LOVETHISSTORE. WHYCAN’T WEHAVEONEINTHEUS?! After a long day of studying and doing research at the library, I decided to do a few hours of shopping, or as one of my best friends would call it — «doing cardio» :P I walked up High Street and went into a few shops and then came across Whistles. On their window they had a huge sign that said«SALE!!!» I was immediately hooked! As I perused through the clothing, I grabbed almost everything I could find in my size! I love the style of the clothing, the cuts, the fabrics, etc. The staff here was sooo sooo friendly — which is a big plus in my book because great customer service leads to a happy customer(me) who then wants to return all the time! They are all probably the nicest retail people I have met so far here in the UK. I will say this, it is not at TopShop prices — it is a little more expensive. But in my opinion, I was so happy with the quality of the clothing that I didn’t mind paying the extra $$. If you’re a shop-a-holic like myself, definitely come here to get your fashion fix ;)

The new collection at Whistles is very good and a lot more fashion-forward than previously collections, but the inside of this store is a bit too cool — dark hues and low lighting make it more like a club than a shop, and having clothes all the way up to the back wall is not very useful. The curtains on the changing rooms didn’t close properly so I felt rushed as everyone coming into the store will pass the changing rooms. Their current collection has some flattering items and eye-catching hues, but with the average price point above £100 for most skirts and dresses, it’s a bit harder to justify in the current economic climate.
