My experiences at Quay Health have lead me to consider reporting them for negligence. Two separate dentists had seen an X-ray showing an abscess and ignored it. It wasn’t until I had great pain that yet a third locum informed me and began treatment. Unfortunately, that treatment has yet to be finished. This last appointment was a farce because he couldn’t do the work as he wouldn’t be there to complete. Nobody phoned me before I came in, and nobody told me at reception. It wasn’t until I got into the chair that the dentist himself told me my appointment was cancelled and that I’d have to wait over a month for another NHS dentist. Prior to this fiasco was an incident regarding a tooth-pulling. I had Dry Socket and so I went back in. The dentist ripped up the gum, with no anaesthetic, so it would bleed and clot again. That was on a Friday, so when it didn’t work I was in agony. I was forced to go to an emergency dentist in Newton Abbot that Sunday and pay for him to pack it with medicated, dissolving gauze. Something they should have done when I came back in. Fed up with the incompetence.
