Stackpole is a National Trust Nature property and nature reserve in West Wales. It incorportates Barafundle Beach, Stackpole Quay, Stackpole Head and Bosherton Lily Ponds Limestone cliffs surround the area, making it a popular sight for sea birds and bird spotters. There’s a cute tearoom on the quay, which serves as a small harbour. The Bosherton lakes, lily ponds and woods make for a great walk — they are really dramatic. The lakes were man made in 1780, and now are a nature reserve, with great walks. The dramatic costal path running along the limestone cliffs provides amazing views in all directions — It is part of the Pembrokeshire Costal Path. You have to take this path to get to Barafundle beach — so it’s not suitable for people with difficulty walking. Parking is at the national trust site — apart from paying for this it’s a free, amazing day out.
