Jacken is a charming shop in Penarth that offers a range of toys«for tots to teens», including educational toys, pedal cars, electric cars, games, puzzles and puppets. The shop is the brainchild of Ken and Jackie Pile, whose«fun-learning policy» is evident when browsing most of the products on display. I only had time for a quick visit, and for such a small and quaint shop, they really pack in a wide selection of stock. It’s like the opposite of faceless enterprise Toys R’ Us. Jacken also carry environmentally friendly soft toys called«Ecochums» which are made from an unbleached woollen fabric, natural cotton and stuffed with wool. It’s a fantastic shop and definitely worth a browse if you’re in need of unique and educational children’s toys.

Great shop with very helpful owner. I rushed in here for presents for my grandsons and bought what was needed and they were delighted with their presents. If you want proper presents which will last for your children then shop here. They even gave me a proper re-usable shopping bag.

A nice little toy store, definitely on the traditional side of things but with toys kids would actually wish to play with. My one complaint would be that it’s rather too small.
