I miss this place So much! Shah, Medi and the rest of the gang working tirelessly in this shop are so awesome, and everything is always consistently FRESH and the BEST in all of the United Kingdom! I just wish you would all hop a plane and come to visit me here in Southern California. I need you to open a shop here in Los Angeles or someplace nearby. I miss the hot fish bites, the amazing filets, the freshly made chips… and most of all the «smiles and friendly banter» from the astounding crew working behind the counter whenever I popped in! The prices for the portions proved to be a veritable bargain when compared with any other local Fish shop. Thank you so much for all the wonderfully delicious fish and all the laughter we shared from last December. I will be back soon… I promise. Until then… please be well, keep smiling and laughing, and know you are all in my intentions! Most of all please stay open indefinitely and keep serving the absolute «BEST» Fish & Chips on the planet! Whatever the boss is paying you, it simply can’t be enough! Not all its reputation implies it to be. Totally agree with an earlier comment — service always with a frown! Salt & vinegar requests ignored, orders made up wrong. The main guy serving is a right miserable idiot. Also, been sick again this weekend after having a cone of chips from there, realised today the last 3 times I’d been ill this way — I’d eaten from there. Think I will be staying away from now on…

Wasnt impressed, was told this was the best fish and chips in penarth. Food was greesy and service with a frown. It is obvious that the staff are not happy and unfortunatly it shows in the food. Would not recommend

For Quality, good portions and an amazing price you would be better off going here rather than Harry Ramsdens in the bay.

A great local ‘Chippy’ which provides all the classics you’d expect from a good Fish and Chip shop. Large portions of battered fish, fishcakes, sausages, pies and of course chips are all served freshly and piping hot. Whilst often Fish and Chip shops serve dry chips and drab pieces of fish, Plassey Fish Bar is thankfully not of this ilk. As mentioned, the fresh tasting food is matched by generous portions and exceptionally reasonable prices, which make this Fish Bar one of the best in the area.
Of my own personal experiences, I have tended to order a portion of chips with the mandatory salt and vinegar, a large sausage in batter, and a portion of mushy peas. Whilst meals from this establishment are hardly advisable on a regular basis given the high salt and fat content, they definitely provide a lovely treat. A real taste of good British food, and one of the best traditional fish and chip takeaways around.

I used to go here every Thursday night with my partner. The 1^st time we went here we ordered 2 fish and chips with 2 cartons of curry.
We didn’t manage to eat half of it.
The 2^nd time we went here we ordered 2 fish with 1 chips and 1 cartoon of curry. We only managed to eat half the fish each.
So the 3^rd time we finally got it right — we ordered 1 fish 1 chips and 1 carton of curry between the 2 of us and it was perfect. This is a long winded way of saying the portions are huge and they are delicious. It’s easily as good as Albany Fish Bar so if you’re passing indulge yourself.

All food is freshly cooked and fried in frymax which is suitable for veggies. Often a bit of a wait but it’s worth it!
