Been here a couple of times, always organised by someone else. Have found service to be slow, food nothing special and over priced. Has a great seafront location and view, which is about the best I can say about the place.

A fantastic restaurant right on the beach! Great for families and big groups — very child friendly. They have a large menu including a long list of yummy stone pven baked pizza! Desserts are also 2for1, so leave some room for one of those! Lots of outdoor sitting space, and a great way to spend a summer evening watching the sun go down! They also give out discounts cards which accumulate on every visit up to 50% off your meal — were on our second one now!

Très belle vue de bord de mer. Par contre demandez bien s’ils ont des moules car j’y suis allé exprès et pas reçu :-(Du coup je me suis consollé dans un burger bacon très bon mais ils ont été radin sur les frites.

I live in the area and go to MJ’s quite frequently — I would say at least 6 times a year. The food’s always been good, the service has been friendly and fast, and the only problem I’ve ever had there was when it was so busy they ran out of some of the ingredients for cocktails! I’m quite surprised to see the bad reviews on here, as I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience there yet.

I cant really review mozzarellas Joes food as we never actually got our food what i can review is their service which in my books was appalling We were on a day out to Southsea and It wasn’t that busy inside so we decided it may be a good place to stop for a cuppa and a bite to eat it looked ok and clean enough(till I got in the toilets which were minging and rank!) we waited the best part of 10 minutes at the door to be seated(next to the sign asking us to wait!) then the person who seated us wandered off without asking us if we wanted drinks or even if the table we had was ok(which it wasn’t I didn’t want to sit near the Window it was a bit warm and too bright) 10 minutes later someone else arrived to take our order they were pleasant enough. we waited and waited unfortunately there was no one in sight to ask when we were going to get our order then all of a sudden there was a kerfuffle near the bar it sounded like someone hadn’t put our order through so from placing our order to them realising we didn’t have any food had taken 40 minutes it was apparent from the conversation that they were not going to come over and apologise, we could hear everything they were saying so we voted with our feet and left, the place wasn’t busy it definitely shouldn’t take 10 minutes to seat someone, 10 minutes to take their order then 40 minutes to realise there were people still sat at a table without food or even a drink! We should have walked earlier but were starving and the surroundings were pleasant enough we didn’t mind a small wait but basically we wasted an hour in there and didn’t eat a thing I work in the food industry and know what it takes to get repeat custom and good reviews and unfortunately Mozareela joes wont be getting either from me. On another note from the menu the prices were ridiculously high for what you were getting and if there had been anywhere else close by they would have got my custom and probably a lot of other peoples. I saw the food being delivered to other people and it didnt look that good or worth the money

Avoid this place if you are seeking good food, value for money and service with a smile. For families on a budget(as we all are now) you will be expected to pay over the odds for stingy portions and sub standard food with only a sea view which is free. Fish and chips with little fish and mostly batter, with no garnish or veg for £ 8.90 per head. Pizza which was like cardboard at £ 3.90 for my 9 year old. Measily drinks for the children(even for a 3 year old and that’s saying something), and a tiny bowl of pasta(30g maximum) for our 6 year old which cost £ 3.90 as well and hardly filled her up. A ‘optional’ service charge as stated on the menu was sneekily added to my bill upon paying and only when spotted by my wife and queried was it removed by the waitress as I thought I had paid enough without this. A very poor show when it could be really nice. For the kids it was a treat but we skipped the deserts in favour of a ice cream along the beach from a local business that actually valued the custom unlike Mozzerella Joes of Southsea. Never again. Wetherspoons will get my money next time !!!

Mozarella Joe’s — Pure greatness! MJ’s is a seafront pizza restaurant in Southsea. It’s location is rather odd, not near ANY other food establishments [unless you count the chippy!] But this does mean it is a very popular place in the summer. You can be waiting quite a while for a table sometimes, but the wait is certainly worth it. Good food, lovely staffThey have a large restaurant in an eye-catching orange with plenty of seating, and also a large-ish ‘balcony’ out the back which is open to be seated at in the warmer months. This ‘balcony’ overlooks the sea and the beach and has a wonderful view — you can see all the boats/ferries/canoeists and people enjoying the water. MJ’s is very kid friendly and also easily accessible for disabled persons. Well recommended!

Q What could be better than a four cheese pizza? A A five cheese pizza. This restaurant’s colour scheme is straight out of easyjet’s handbook. Having said that inside it’s actually not bad at all. there’s a huge pizza overn which is quite a feature. There’s also a patio area which is great in the summer. This restaurant is right on the seafront not far from clarence pier. I went not long after it first opened and went again recently. It’s an odd location — not really next to any restaurants — then again not really next to anything really — but that said they seem to get a good deal of walk through trade as well as those that make a special trip. There’s absolutely loads of parking nearby — the whole of the seafront — but unfortunately it’s also chargeable.
