Visited Strada in Gun Wharf last year for a friends birthday. There were 30 of us and the restaurant asked us to pre order so they could prepare for us. When we arrived we were shown to our table upstairs, it was very out of the way from the rest of the restaurant which was ok seeing as we were a large group. We had one member of staff looking after us and it was taking over 30 minutes to get a drink brought to us. In the end, we all resulted in going downstairs to the bar ourselves and buying drinks and bringing them back up. When the meals finally came(1 and a half hours after we first arrived), lots of the orders were wrong which we were very annoyed about after they insisted that we pre order. In the end, they ended up giving us 50% off the bill which did make us a feel a little better but the night had not gone well. I have also visited the Strada in Reading and have to say, it was a complete contrast. Food, service and staff were excellent and couldnt fault them at all.

Fish as usual very tasty and fresh, but service rates average to poor. Tables could have been cleaner. Nothing to repeat.

I’ve visited this Strada restaurant twice since living in Portsmouth this year, and both times the meals have been really nice. The menu isn’t fairly posh compared to some other Italians, but still has quite a wide range of choice. Although not one of the cheapest Italian restaurants in Portsmouth, there are often deals which can be found online for Strada restaurants.

This place does do very nice pizzas and is in a very nice location but thats about it. On the times I’ve been there the staff have seemed more interested in chatting to each other than being helpful. They did help eventually, but you feel like it’s a bit of a bother. I’d have complained but the manager seemed apathetic. I think the main reason I was disappointed is that it looked so nice and I set my expectations a little too high. If you’re after some nice grub and a few beers, it’s not too bad.

Normally dont go in for chains as they’re very standard by definition and eating out for dinner is something worth doing right, but Strada in pompy is a bit of an exception. Its got the classy sheen of a big chain italian resteraunt and it can be pricey — certainly not cheap — it does do some very good food. Service not particularly amazing but no real complaints; portions not huge but certainly not small(pizzas are a bit of an exception — and recommended).

Very tasty Italian restaurant in gunwharf quays. The setting inside is very nice and in summer there are loads of tables outside. There is a very nice food and wine menu. There is a good range of meat dishes, pizzas(way too big for one person!) and pastas. They have a rigatoni dish which is excellent! They also bring out chilled water for you! service is good and friendly. Families and children are welcomed which nice for a good classy restaurant. The deserts are absolutely divine! Prices are not unreasonable and it makes a an enjoyable meal out!

The whole shopping center is nice here and if you need lunch and its sunny I’d say Strada is one of the better places to go. We sat outside here just close enough to the inside bit to be sheltered from the sea breeze(you can’t see the sea but it does get the breeze) but just enough outside to catch the rays. I love Strada for its lovely pizza’s and free water brought to the table without you having to ask. Yum.
