Mix Cocktail Bar

Cool spot! Being from out of town — we didn’t know much about the area. A bunch of us dropped by after work for a drink. Not much seating but cool atmosphere. Great mixed drinks! Thanks!

Excellent and attentive service, well mixed cocktails and a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. Drinks are slightly more expensive than most places but was happy to pay it for the quality received.

Expensive, average cocktails in a place with try-​hard décor and enfuriatingly showy bar staff.
I thought a Tom Collins was hard to get wrong. Every day is a school day. Especially when I find myself teaching the bartender how to make it properly.

Mix is an odd one; situated on the corner of Kings Walk, it is fairly small and cramped. Clearly decorated by the mutant offspring of Lawrence Llewlyn-​Bowen and Jean Paul Gaultier, the interior also leaves something to be desired, bordering on the severely tacky. The drinks are not bad, however given the price and skill of the bartenders, better deals are to be had just round the corner.
One unique feature however is the fact that Chinese cinema is often played via a projector in the bar– a truly fascinating experience. Live DJs are not too bad either.
Overall — I’d say don’t plan an entire night there, and whilst I would never encourage anyone to steal the glasses, it might go some way to making you feel you got what you paid for.

I love this place. It’s teeny tiny which gives it a bit of an exclusive vibe. The décor is all luxurious loungers and sparkly chandeliers, and the barmen seem to be employed both on great bar skills and good looks.
It’s a bit expensive, so it’s probably the place to start your night rather then end it. Try the truffle shuffle, basically liquid apple crumble.
Also, it sits right next to a gorgeous flower shop and underwear boutique, so you can drop unsubtle hints to your other half.

Been to Mix this evening — it’s where they’re holding Reading Twestival.
They’ve mixed up some special cocktails, just for the events, and helped with just about everything.
Ooh, and they have Wi-​Fi

Fan-​bloomin-​tasic selection of proper cocktails. None of this pre-​mixed rubbish. I can thoroughly recommend the coconut daquiri. Oh, and the turkish delight.
Nice bar staff and atmosphere.
Only issue is that the place is a little small.

Great selection of cocktails, good service.
Only negative point i can think of is that there is not much beer selection (So it’s hard to drag the other half there). They have classic favourites and new and original (staff created) cocktails.
The decoration is very different too :-)
