A little tucked away off the main road but well worth tracking down. Lots of specials in the food line and close to take aways and restaurants for something more after a few beers. The selection of drins is good and plenty of car parking right outside. Also, a nice area outside for smokers.

The Seven Red Roses Pub is on the edge of the carpark, next to the little parade of shops in Maiden Place, Lower Earley. Its seems to be a ‘locals’ pub, you see the same croud in there night after night, and can be slightly intimidating to walk into for the first time, but once you have been a couple of times it feels warm and friendly. They often have really good ‘beer and curry’ nights that appear to be good value, but unfortunately nothing for vegetarians. They also have regular quiz nights, and big screens for when the rugby/football is on.
