I am sorry to only give this a 3 star, a year ago this would have been 5 but it can’t be denied that restaurant has gone downhill. i had used this restaurant for over 6 years and rated it highly apart from their breads, which in my opinion they have never got right. The Dhansak either chicken or lamb was fantastic, it had the real depth of flavours any fan of Parsi /Persian cooking will understand, and then overnight it was gone. I truly believe they lost their chef as now is is a hot tomato dish with a few lentils in. I know I’m in a minority here with my rating and they do various offers during the week that keeps the place busy. I have been told by friends that have used it on and off since it first opened that it has always gone in cycles a good few years then a few bad. They are always freindly and they are open Christmas day and do not like many restaurants, put up their prices. I would be interested to get feedback on what you think, i am fussy but for that i make no appolergy.

I live near this restaurant — I LOVE their lemon rice — the best lemon rice I have ever had and their king prawn balti and chicken tikka masala is just as fabulous. The staff are friendly at the take away counter and in the restaurant. However, the older man in the restaurant is slightly a bit in your face when serving you and takes away the plates too quickly when you haven’t even finished and so I think that perhaps that can ruin the experience when dining there.

We went during a electricity blackout. It was absolutley packed because people couldn’t cook in their homes, yet they very quickly managed to find us a table for the 7 of us(2 tables pushed together). The food tasted wonderful and was very cheap(we all got a starter, a maincourse, a side dish and either rice or naan bread for £10 per head). And because they were in their own little dishes on the warmers, everyone could share, rather than the akward situation where to share you have to take things directly off their plates. We were all absolutely stuffed afterwards The house wine was lovely, well worth the £10 per bottle, and we got complimentary tipples after,(The guys chose brandy and the girls all took the baileys). The waiters were friendly and efficient. The only reason why I’m giving 4 stars and not 5, is because one of the waiters(only one though, and he seemed to be the head waiter) couldn’t understand what my mother was saying, as she was from Liverpool and still has a slight accent. All in all, a wonderful place to eat. I’d reccomend it to everyone and will go back there myself often in the future!

I feel the need to address the review from Gethin. My partner and I have been to this restaurant many times now. I can honestly say that the food is of a very good standard. I would recommend the Tenga murgh citrus chicken, which is one of their specials. Also the Lamb pathia which is tender, although once I did have this dish and it was a little tough. But in two years that has only ever happened once! If you choose to go you will not regret it. I hope this review helps you decide.

This is a favourite of ours and many of our friends. The atmosphere in the restaurant is always pleasent and the staff are friendly and aim to please at all times, even when a group of us have turned up late in the evening. The food speaks for itself, excellent and very enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to any curry lover who wants is a relaxing evening enjoying good food. Just a shame they don’t deliver.

The food was great, especially the Sagaloo. (unsure whether that is spelt correctly, sorry) The service was excelent, the staff were very nice. I liked the way they kept the food hot on the table with the tealights. One of the best Indians I have had I would definately go again.

We tried every curry in town, and this was our favourite, hands down. We like them so much, we were loyal when we wanted a takeaway even though they don’t deliver, and that’s saying something! Dining in, the service was always perfect, with a friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere. The food was always spot on, and I encourage you to try their one-off specials – I was never disappointed when I did.
