Cornwall Gold

Ideal place to kill a few hours. Has free parking and disabled access. Its got a wide range of jewellery to suit all styles and price ranges also has a couple of other shops to potter in. Café is pretty basic and ranges from overpriced to affordable.

The parking and free admission to the site is a pleasing surprise.
What wasn’t however were the horrendous prices charged for some of the attractions and especially the food & drinks. A small bottle of soft drink was £1.50 and a one scoop ice cream came in at a staggering £1.70 with a second scoop bringing the price up to £2.90 !!! (It was nice ice cream however).
We had a couple of normal sized baps with what was advertised as a side salad but in reality turned out to be approx. one small lettuce leaf and an eighth of a small tomato!
All the attractions that the children like to have a go at were also on the heavy side with children’s prices at £2.50 for gold panning and £3.00 for gem scooping, both with a time limit of 15 mins.
To round it up, a two child family wouldn’t get away with much less than £60 and if they wanted any jewellery or souvenirs (expensive but nice), then the sky’s the limit.
We had a good time but it was marred by the constant thought that the place was a custom made «grockle» (or «emitt) trap.

This was a nice place to find and amazingly free parking and entry. However, if it hadn’t been for ‘Pot of Gold’ we probably wouldn’t have spent long here. It’s an interesting place if you’re looking for gold, silver or pearl jewlery and they’ve tried to make it child friendly but I’m still not quite sure of the point of the place.
Having said that, ‘Pot of Gold’ was brilliant. We painted our own plates and colelcted them, glazed and fired, a couple of days later.
Worth noting the place seems to be called ‘Treasure Park’ now. Most of the road signs now say this (but not all) and the sign at the entry says this too.

This is quite an unusual place, combining displays of such things like Deloren cars, to Cleopatra heads and James Bond and Star wars characters and all around you there is gold and silver jewelry to be purchased from very sophisticated jewelry counters. Outside there are other exhibits but they were still in the process of putting the finishing touches when we visited so we weren’t able to see all of them or do the panning for gold.

fantastic day out for everybody! they keep adding more and more every year! they cater for everybody young or old! theres plenty of parking even with and over spill carpark on very busy days! and yes it does get very busy! but its definatley worth a day out here! to add to your cornish experience!

Nice day out and good for the kids. More being added each year. Diamonds are very reasonable here.

There is a bit of everything here from jeweller sales to gold panning to 4d mine rides. You can see cars from james bond films, or just have a bite to eat. it is a bit out of the way but somewhere to go perhaps on a sunday afternoon. I wouldnt be pleased if I visited this as an attraction, I think you need to have a purpse to go there which I did and was very pleased with the earrings I went to get. I thnk it caters for kids who are 8+, but below this age there isnt really anyting for them.

This attaction is a bit of a mish mash really and I feel that they have missed a trick somewhere as they have a great location, massive building but they don’t quite know where they want to be in terms of what they offer, I mean they have a selection of film memorabilia like cars and then a weird retail bit in the middle and then a very shabby café and a selection of outbuildings offering various activities. Overall it’s OK but I wouldn’t waste a day out here.

Cornish Goldsmiths is a tourist attraction in the Redruth area of Cornwall. There is a large car park and an overfill car park for use on busy days. Some of the main attractions inside include the golden Aston Martin from the Goldfinger film and one million pounds in five pound notes. A museum shows you about the techniques used in mining but this is not all that exciting. There are also hands on activities like gold panning, and the gold you find you can keep. You can also make a pot and paint it which can be fun for the children. Cornish Goldsmiths is good day out for families and at times is quite educational.
