This place was delightful. Their menu(particularly for a pub) was top notch. We went for dinner and shared 4 small plates and each got a side of the baby greens. First of all, presentation was amazing! Second, the food was very good. Service was delightful but a bit on the slow side so best to eat here if you are not in a huge hurry.

A great pub, right on Richmond green. Excellent fun sitting on the grass outside and watching the last few overs of a cricket match. Good selection of real ale and decent(but not great) food. Popular with locals and visitors.

Decent local pub overlooking Richmond Green and playing sports when they’re on. They serve okay food and have a few cosy nooks and cranny’s to chill out in as well as a few benches outside in the atmospheric pedestrian lane. It’s A-OK.

Ahhh, English pubs how I missed you… and how I missed the very British tradition of it always raining on a bank holiday. So, picnic in Richmond Park cancelled, day in nearest pub promptly scheduled. The Princes Head was leading choice as it had some outside space(foolish optimism prevailed for around an hour) and two of us had been there before and eaten a decent(read: HUGE) roast. It was a nice enough pub in which to spend the day. Fullers usually are imho. The drinks weren’t too expensive for Richmond(or am I just used to drinking in the States now, with its sales tax and humongous tip for table service?) and the bar staff were friendly. The wine is drinkable. The food is good value, it’s not bad pub fare — who am I kidding, I was desperate for some mushy peas and proper chips. Minus points for their ‘no under 21′ policy — more the manner(rude) in which it was enforced when my friend arrived with his baby in tow than the policy itself, which I can understand. But there’s no need to be mean about it. It must be pretty good as we were somehow here for more than 9 hours. 3 stars.

Apparently there have been some recent refurbishments at this place. This can sometimes be a bit of a warning sign that things have turned all gastroenteritis on us and the previous charm is no more. However, I think things have remained fairly solid here. It’s got a good traditional atmosphere and the location plus food and drinks make for a good choice. It’s right at the corner of Richmond Green which is a nice place for anyone or anything to be. Certainly there’s quite a lot of choice round here but personally, I prefer this to the Cricketers next door and the food is definitely better. Real ale on tap too.

Nothing wrong here really, a good Fullers pub, seconds away from the High Street situated on Richmond Green a pretty little square with grass in the middle where they play cricket. A lot of the pubs in Richmond have been modernised and changed into Gastro pubs with bleached floors and leather sofa’s etc. This pub has been renovated but still retains much of its original interior and has a definite pub feel rather than gastro. They point themselves towards gastro in terms of food, so I guess you have the best of both worlds, pub charm and gastro food. As ever the Fullers beer is kept well and the service on my recent visit was courteous and up to speed. Various nooks and cranny’s to sit in and the outside area is great in the summer months due to its picturesque location. Busy in the evenings and Sunday’s can be busy whilst relaxed and comfortable. Decent honest pub trying hard to elevate it’s food.

Decent pub on the corner of Richmond Green, down a lane just off the high street. A large sports pub with lots of space inside and several round wooden tables out on the pavement. Food is average.

The Princes Head is a pretty good Fuller’s establishment in an excellent location, right on Richmond green. In summertime, there’s not much better than getting a pint of chilled Discovery and lying on the grass, watching the combination of cricketers, football, kids, frisbee etc. and of course, the excellent view of the planes coming in to Heathrow. The points I’ve scored in this very place on «identify that aircraft challenge»… ah. The staff are good here, the food is standard pub fayre, but nice with it. The interior is a bit sticky, but they have open fires and sofas which are cozy in winter. All in all, not bad.
