The Tea Box in Richmond, London is a favourite of mine that I have been to on a few occasions while living in London. The teashop is located just off Richmond High Street about a 5 – 10 minute walk from the station. The tea menu at the Tea Box has a large variety of options from your usual black, white and green teas to alcoholic teas and speciality blends that can be had with a selection of scones, sandwiches or tasting platters. The décor of the Tea Box has an oriental feel with the metal tables and menu covers and is filled with comfy oversized chairs that are the perfect thing to spend a few hours curled up in while catching up with friends over a few cups of tea no matter the weather outside. It can get a little crowded with the number of tables in the small space but that is not a worry as you still feel like you have your little corner of the teashop with the way that they have been arranged around the room.

One of my favourite spots in Richmond, they do the best smoked chicken caesar salads in town. Go on a live jazz night… book in advance! The owners of this cute little gem are so lovely and warm… it treacles down to the staff. Love the extensive tea selection, great tasting honey and lastly… There organic red wine is mighty fine ;-)

Allowed us in right before closing time to have a quick cup before dinner. Excellent tea!

Attended Wimbledon tea and champagne and found it was okay for the price. The location is adorable, a quaint set up, tea boxes displayed and old wooden tables. The food was dry and on basic white plates. I’m not an expert on tea, but the service was lovely. I would recommend the shop invest in their food presentation.

I love chai so I wandered in here and tried their house specialty teapot of chai. It was £3.65, which with the 12.5% service charge came out to $ 6.72USD. The chai was very good, albeit not hot enough and it was a TINYSERVING. It was served in a teapot which was barely half full. To disguise the stingy portion, they give you an even TINIER, comical glass in which to pour the chai. I guess they ruled out thimbles. I will come here again, but it will be pay for a warm place to sit for a couple of hours with wifi with a little bit of tea on the side. The chairs are wooden, large, and not too comfortable.

This is a lovely little tea«restaurant» with a cozy, homey, Asian /British tea atmosphere. Not a place to visit in a hurry, but with an extensive menu of hot and cold teas, coffees, alcoholic versions of tea or coffee, and food and desserts, this is definitely a place to linger and enjoy. My husband ordered the ‘Cool Jas’, a cold jasmine tea drink(with sugar on the rim — yum!), and I actually had a Mocha. Both were really delicious and served in an attractive way. The service was great and prices were also good. Because this location is a step away from the High Street, the crowd is also more enjoyable than many other cafes in Richmond — not so rushed. Very nice!

Extra star for the creative concept and quirky deco. But I’ve experienced better. Me and my husband were near Richmond neighbourhood and were hungry for a quick meal. Find this place in Unilocal and decided to eat here. Thought queue is a good sign but… the wait time is long for getting seated and coming of food. We paid 18£ for two A-OK tasted sandwich and two way too strong tea despite the timer, and guess what? 12.5% compulsory service charge for a café?!! Never again

Hmmm, what can I say? Was really looking forward to afternoon tea and it wasn’t bad when it finally got served. But, was it worth a 50 min wait?! Wasn’t like they weren’t expecting us as we had booked a table in advance specifically for the afternoon tea… Service was friendly, but sooooo slow. Didn’t even get the drinks before the food — even though they apologised several times! For £14 per pers we had cucumber and smoked salmon sandwiches, mini scones and 1 piece of homemade cake with a pot of tea. Excellent tea selection. Nice atmosphere. All in all good afternoon tea, except for the wait!

This is a cosy treat. So many teas to choose from. A tea timer to tell you when your cuppa has reached its perfect strength! A nice touch i thought. Ended up buying 3 as presents! Tea lovers unite.

I welcome the concept of The Tea Box. For far too long now, coffee has cornered the market, not necessarily because of the quality of the coffee, but because of the money poured into, and generated from the coffee business. It’s time tea took back the market! Or at least had a little bit more of a share in it. What I also like about The Tea Box was the genteel, feminine quality to it. Everything is beautifully designed and ornate. The amount of teas on offer is extensive and well thought out. They are divided into sections; Black tea, Green tea, Yellow Tea, Oolong, Flowering, and even some cheeky liqueur teas. I would say that there are around 100 teas on offer here. There is also a perfectly matched menu of snacks and sandwiches. How genius is the idea of doing an Earl Grey infused tea loaf? My favourite was the Afternoon Tea with the option of champagne. Hands up who would rather have that for their tea break then a latte? I know that I would!

roper tea and cake shop this one, looks very new, very classy and is very nice. I’m not a mad fan of «wasting» money on drinking tea and coffee whilst out. I guess I am too tight for that and would rather«enjoy» a beer instead. That said I was out the other day in Richmond and ending up a little off the high street area and bumped into this place, as I say I would have normally had a snigger at the weirdo’s wasting their money on something that I can get at home for pence but I was intrigued by this place as it looked so nice. Plush interior in a classy yet straight way, I expected to be served by a Victorian«lady». Anyway, it looks like you can get any form of tea and a good selection of homemade sandwiches and cakes. The tea comes with a timer so that you can time your tea and serve to the strength you require. Very well decorated with nice furniture etc make this place stand out from most.
