Great venue with equally great food available in their restaurant. More on the expensive side so unfortunately not a frequent treat.

What a lovely pub and restaurant. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Good food menu and very tasty food. Small selection of bar nibbles. Lovely place to sit outside in the warmer months.

Lovely setting and staff friendly and helpful. Food okay but hardly spectacular. Still the wife and I use it fairly regularly.

An utter disgrace. Now, I’ve been a few times and each time gets more laughable than the next. The food has gone way down hill since reopening as the overpriced joke that it is and now the service has got me raging. I will NEVER come here again. So. What happened? Well, about 12 of us came here for my family ‘hen’ meal. Both my mum and my auntie have MS(a horrible, bastard of an illness, which slowly makes you unable to walk, see etc). Now, this was stated upon booking and so a downstairs table was requested. We arrived, no booking AND they had the gall to send my aunt(who can barely walk) upstairs to wait for the rest of us. I arrived and they said no, we couldn’t go upstairs either(luckily mum can leave her chair and is good on chairs) and that there was 2 bookings for us but no tables??? Confused. I was. And I was a starving, nervous bride to be. Didn’t need this aggro. After ½ an hour, they got us a table, the furthest table from he disabled loo. Up some steps too. AND the disabled loo you cant access with wheelchairs due to tables BLOCKING the door. The table we did have was in the conservatory. Which was roasting hot. They took ages to serve us our disgusting, overpriced food and all we got for this embarrassing hassle was a free bottle of wine. Not even champagne. Or money off!!! Don’t go here. I’ve only ever had a bad experience. Came for my bday when it first opened and had table troubles again and mum had a bottle of wine dropped on her. I needed a quick Sat booking as this was fairly last minute, thought this would be ok as is near my mum’s house. Rank. Outraged. Vexed.

A little off the road is the Scotsbridge Mill, A wonderful place to go, hang out drink and eat. Fantastic menu and surroundings. Friendly staff, good food and a great selection of beer. The place looks amazing.

So this place use to put me off for two reasons. It use to be a Beefeater(on my list of things that makes me angry, along with Harvester, Dixons, Halifax, the over use of the term babyfather and woman who cant park their Chelsea tractors) and there is a skate park right outside. Not that I don’t like skate parks, just you don’t expect a really lovely restaurant to be just behind it. The two don’t tend to go hand in hand. The kids who skate there tend to be pretty good though. When I finally ventured in after discovering Beefeater was gone and gave it a try, so so so glad I did. They have all the traits that get five stars from me. 1) A lovely, seasonal, locally produced menu. The first time I went in I had pigeon for starters and rabbit for mains. Just delicious. Everything I have had there is perfectly cooked, with care and attention. The scallops are always worth a try. The specials are always worth a try and they always have a nice fish special. The desserts are worth saving some space for too. 2) The service is superb. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. They aren’t too intrusive, but are suitably attentive. 3) A good wine list. They also have a brilliant cocktail menu. Try the after dinner chocolate martini, immense. The cocktails are so good and the bar is spacious enough that you could spend a night jut having drinks there. 4) A beautiful venue. As the name gives away this is an old mill, with the wheel still right in the middle. The place is suitably decorated in keeping with the mill. There us an outside area where you can sit and have drinks. There are also plenty of parking spaces. 5) Enough space between tables! I can’t stress this enough. In big open restaurants, they sometimes cram in so many tables that you feel like you are having dinner with the table next to you. When thats over excitable drunkards, thats never a great day. Not so here. You sit in your own space. I love this. I strongly recommend giving this place a try! You won’t regret it

Been here a few times and have always left saying I would go back. Food is great, atmosphere and location likewise. Would definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding for dessert!

Formerly part of the Beefeater chain this converted Watermill is a great place to go for dinner with the family. The main feature is the water wheel, and part of the restaurant/pub is built over the river. Seating is on several levels(apparently they have room for 200) and the interior is well furnished. Pizzas are around the £8 mark and are very tasty. They also serve steaks and pasta as well as other dishes. Staff always seem very friendly. Have never had any problems, other than turning up when it was closed for renovation!

Have been here a couple of times and it’s very nice, especially if you have a table in the conservatory when you can see the waterwheel. Food is lovely. Went on Valentines Day this year and it was so busy so the service wasn’t all that, but the other time I went it was great. Would recommend the scallops to start and the fillet steak was lovely!!! You can also just have a drink and they serve bar meals.

A really nice restaurant in a lovely setting. An old water mill converted into a pub/fine dining experience means you get the best of both worlds. Perfect locale for a post ramble drink or Sunday Lunch. The drinks menu is really fun and they lay on papers. My kinda place!
