Smugglers Haunt

A typical chain pub (part of the beefeater) but has a nice rural décor. The food was ok, but eh staff were brusque, and a bit dippy. The swearing and shouting from the kitchen everytime the door opened certainly made for an amusing evening, even if it did have you cringing for the family with young kids sitting near to us.
It was kind of obvious that steak was their forte, and the chicken wasnt brilliant, but the salad did appear to be frehly prepared and had a very nice house dressing on it.
Decent enough to stop off at for food when travelling, but wouldnt be a plce you’d go to especially.
