This is your typical Wetherspoons and another one located in a converted cinema. It’s got a couple of hand pumps with usually vaguely local beers on as well as the usual selection of bottles and spirits.
I visited on a Saturday evening — fairly noisy and busy but plenty of seating so you can always avoid the groups. They also had a decent amount of bar staff on so fast service.
It’s ok but there are better places in Rochdale town centre which aren’t that much more expensive.

The Regal Moon is a Wetherspoons, a bloody big one at that!
Up until 1991ish it was a cinema, back when cinemas were a nice place to go to. Then for a few years it was a Bingo hall, and then it became what it is today.
It’s basically a massive pub filled by lots and lots of people in varying states if drunkeness (Well, it does open early).
Like other pubs in the same chain it’s not really my kind of place, really it is only used by us as a one pint stop off, or as a meeting place.
They do tend to have a good choice of guest ales on all the time, but that isn’t enough to raise the place above merely a Meh…

cheap drinks. great! cheap food. great! a place to meet up before a night out. great. the regulars? not always so great I’m afraid, because the cheap beer does attract all sorts. all in all, because you always get what you pay for in life, value for money is good here. just don’t take your girlfriend there to ask her to marry you…

well i do drink in the regal moon at night once a month but i gotta say i would never eat in there after the bbc did an expose on the british beef they advertise as being some disease ridden cattle from
is full of alcoholics and the older gentleman through the day. the prices make it tempting as it is one of the cheapest day and night.

I love the regal moon, it’s just like the other wetherspoons, nicely priced drink and food, and a quiet atmosphere. I’ve always enjoyed my time here and prefer it to other pubs in the town. The fish and chips are lovely!

Typical large Weatherspoons pub: cheap beer and food. Very busy on Friday and Saturdays; sometimes service can be a little slow and the clientelle can be a bit rowdy, but if still overall recommended.

Another of the JDW company pubs. This is a big cinema converted in to a public house that provides discount/​value food and drink on the high street. Prices are low compared to others in the same town. In this case you get what you pay for. Service standards leaves alot to be desired. Possibly ok for a meeting place and then moving on.
