A solid four for sure winston ! A large group for a birthday meal. First off I must point out that staff are not rude and on the iPhone’s whilst there at your table it is an e-system for waiting staff to take orders and reduces the risk of kitchen error The menu take a little bit to get your head around(pick a meal then a side then a sauce) ie ribs jacket potato with Budweiser sauce !(not a combo I wou do have) some meals all ready have there sides and sauces picked out! But service was good and it’s quite nice they wait till all the meals are ready so they bring them out all In one go! Only slight fault it took an age to clear plates away and get a pudding menu ! Plus when you get your pudding check you have actually got the right one most of the chocolate ones look extremely similar !

I went to this resturant today, knowing they have a Gluten Free Menu and with many local pubs being shut down. I went with my friend and his child, they thought their meal wasokay but I didn’t enjoy mine! My Jacket Poatato had little beans and cheese, it was mostly dry. The Presentation on the Jacket Poatato could of been alot better. I asked what a Floater Coffee was and my server told me it was a coffee with cream, I was dissapointed to find a black coffee with awful, funny tasting cream. I also had and Apple and Blackberry Crumble, It was Gluten Free however they added custard without telling me, that is okay but I would have prefered the offer. The fruit with it had a weird, chewy flavour and the Breadcrumbs might of been Gluten Free but I expected better. Service was slow, a short meal turned out to take quite a while with the service time being long just for a Jacket Poatato.

Went on Saturday even though they don’t take bookings, was told on arrival that there would be a 90 minute wait for a table, at that point any normal people would’ve gone somewhere else for a meal. But alas it was decided we would wait(Ignoring the screams of starvation coming from my stomach). We arrived at 7 and were seated at half 8 and ordered our food right away, it turned up at quarter past 9, so basically we were eating over two hours after turning up and by this point my belly was pretty sure that I hated it and was more in love with my long departed gall bladder. The wait wouldn’t have been too bad if the food had been better, but it wasn’t, it was just ok, there were 8 of us and only one person fully cleaned their plate, and one person hardly seemed to have eaten anything. It was the first time i’d eaten here since the days when it was a Beefeater, after Saturday night I wish it still was…

I have on many occasions enjoyed a meal at The Harvester. The food is usually really nice and the service is good. On a few occasions however, the grilled food has let the restaurant down, as has the service on a couple of occasions. On every visit I have made, however, the fresh food has always been good and the salad and bread are excellent and there is PLENTY! You can keep going back for salad and bread. There is lots of parking and they even do an early bird menu at a reduced price. It’s ok to go to The Harvester if you’re hungry, with your mates, or with the family, but don’t try to impress your new girlfriend. Just not classy enough! It’s fast food in a pleasant pub surroundings. You get what you pay for… most of the time!
